Haha, I remember reading on a few forums all the people that were so excited that this clown was going to be their pro-pot president, and work to get the retard failure of a War on Drugs™ toned down, lol at their disappointment that he is just another politician. The really, really, really sad part is how much we as a country would benefit from ending the ridiculous WoD™. The money saved, and earned would be insane, the medical and non marijuana industry is already a mutli billion a year industry.

This stoner is off to work.

This "doper" is off to buy a new Ford today after putting in some extra OT in the ER last night. Amazing how not all pot smokers are lazy slackers just like not all drinkers are stupid drunks.

Amazing that all these responsible druggies were unable to get pot legal in California.

To busy getting high to get out to vote?

There was a large push by the people currently profiting off it to keep it illegal. they know that if it becomes truly legal their cash cow will die.

Lol at people who ever think government will willingly give up its power and control over their lives.

This really is the meat of it. There is no logical reason to keep drugs illegal instead of legalizing them and profiting from them, but yet ...

this is true and I had been saying this in pretty much EVERY post having to do with Prop 19 leading up to and after. when people are currently making 10k a month with very little effort because the price of cannabis is artificially inflated they're going to keep that going as long as they can.

Probably because people want him to actually give an honest answer regarding pot legalization.

The last time he did this sort of thing, he laughed it off as if it was a silly question. Well, guess what... it's not.

We can run around all we want with our war on drugs. We can go slaughter people in afghanistan to open the flood gates for heroin to come into our country... we can take meth manufacturing out of the hands of american hill billies and into the hands of ultra-violent mexican cartels... but none of that contributes anything positive to our so called war on drugs.

Marijuana is basically legal in california in that it's obviously not hard to find a doctor to recommend it to you and give you a card.

Legalize and regulate marijuana and it's even harder for underage people to get ahold of it. Go do a survey of 16 year olds. Ask them what's easiest to get. Pot, Cigarettes, or Alcohol. In most cases it's going to be pot because they don't have to show ID to buy it.

How is legalizing it going to keep it out of the youngsters hands.

They will go and do exactly what they currently do - ask someone to illegally get it.

Cigs and Alcohol and not that easy to manufacture; therefore it is easier to control.

Legalizing pot (weed) will only increase taxes to those that are unable to grow it themselves or find a buddy to share with.

Same way keeping it illegal does ...it won't. Now though a 15 year old gets caught, goes to juvenile and now is in the system with a record, set up to fail for life.

They will go and do exactly what they currently do - ask someone to illegally get it.
As opposed to dealing with dangerous drug dealers, great point.

Cigs and Alcohol and not that easy to manufacture; therefore it is easier to control.
Hardly. People don't grow tobacco or make alcohol because they can easily, cheaply, legally buy it.

Legalizing pot (weed) will only increase taxes to those that are unable to grow it themselves or find a buddy to share with.
Bullshit. Legalizing weed will create a billion dollar a year industry, not just for smoking, but for industrial uses. The economic positives destroy the negatives before you even start to talk about the money saved from ending the failure called the War on Drugs™

Cigs and Alcohol and not that easy to manufacture; therefore it is easier to control. : What does that have to do with it's legality? sounds more like an " oh damn... that's just too hard to do sort of answer.

Legalizing pot (weed) will only increase taxes to those that are unable to grow it themselves or find a buddy to share with. : Let's just foget about the millions of dollars that california and other places are making off of taxes already w\ medical operations. People brew their own beer too ... doesn't seem to hurt the beer market.

Isn't it ironic how alot of the reasons to keep marijuana illegal have to do with the difficulty in enforcing laws? I thought the stoners were supposed to be the lazy ones.

Everyone against it also always focuses on weed's use as a recreational drug. It's also a proven pharmaceutical solution with minimal side effects compared to other drugs that are used for similar treatment. It also has many industrial uses, including a fuel source, a fabric for just about any use, and a source of useful oils. Legalizing marijuana and utilizing the full potential of hemp will birth an enormous industry that will create jobs, provide medical treatments, and ease the strain of relying on foreign imports of cotton and fuel.
