He did lose $13,000 on the investments, so unless that's an inaccurate figure it's probably not a big deal unless Clinton can dig up something more (assuming it's her). He's not going to get the nomination anyway and I'm not voting for Clinton anyway. Here's hoping for McCain.

I'm beginning to think that these things are coming from Obama's camp. First it was the deal he made with one of his contributors to subdivide and sell off his land. Then is was the cocaine thing. Now this. (Which really looks like much ado about nothing)

I suspect he's getting all the"scandal" stuff out of the way early. The sooner it's aired out the sooner people forget about it. No point in putting off what will inevitably be thrown in his face later on. Pretty smart if that's what's happening.

Burton said Obama ended the blind trust after he got a stockholder letter in the mail. Obama could not remember whether the mail was from AVI, Skyterra or another company he was invested in, Burton said, but he "realized he didn't have the level of blindness he expected" and sold the stocks in November 2005.

The key paragraph.

Well the media does have a problem, they want Hillary, but that damn Obama came into the show and stole the limelight. He is fresh, he is handsome, and he isn't soiled by years of politics and controversy like Hillary. So what can they do?

I figure the mud is going to get really really deep on the Democrat side. Hillary just cannot be allowed to lose the nomination. From the press standpoint she is practically entitled to it.

Looking at the people running on the Democrat side and who gets the press? The best candidates? Not by far. Same goes for the Republican side. Those who have the best campaigns do it. If the press were interested in a good candidate we would all be better off as too many Americans make their decision based on what they see and hear in the press.

I guess you get in trouble if you are the ex-ceo of Haliburton, and your are a Republican. If you are going to vote for deals for these companies, then there is an obvious conflich of interest. He was basically being paid by the companies to vote on their behalf. Even if he lost money, he was reimbursed by campaign donations to make up the difference. This would be like being the CEO of haliburton and serving in office at the same time. When Carter was president, he arranged for someone else to run or buy his peanut farming interests.

Not surprising. But it is amusing to see the Bush faithful suddenly give a damn about conflicts of interest.

Yep, sure is nice to see all these comas lifting...hope they can maintain this recently absent sense of scrutiny.

Like you Bush bots excusing every conflict of interest Bush has been involved with in the last 7 years?

Just more baseless rambling and speculation from you, surprise surprise. Even threw in the standard appeal to "both sides do it." Classic.

Sorry to disappoint, but I feel all politicians (regardless of affiliation) should be screened for the kind of shady dealings which made us all so proud of Tom "I'm a witchhunt victim' DeLay.

The problem here isn't that Obama owned the stock. Its that the other investors who owned a large amount of stock in the two companies were also big donors to the Obama campaign. And that is BAD BAD BAD.

Also, what does Hillary Clinton have to do with this?
