Obama is not having much luck lately. Maybe he should just vacation in Hawaii till Jan.

First we have the Blago problem that looks to have snared Obama's future Chief of Staff.

And now we have Richardson's donor being looked at by a grand jury in a pay to play scheme.
Seems this company gave money to Richardson PAC prior to being given a contract within the state of New Mexico.

We may have to start to tally sheet of Obama associates who either resigned or quit due to legal problems.

Dec. 15 (Bloomberg) -- A federal grand jury is investigating how a company that advised Jefferson County, Alabama, on bond deals that threaten to cause the biggest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, did similar work in New Mexico after making contributions to Governor Bill Richardson?s political action committees.

The grand jury in Albuquerque is looking into Beverly Hills, California-based CDR Financial Products Inc., which received almost $1.5 million in fees from the New Mexico Finance Authority in 2004 after donating $100,000 to Richardson?s efforts to register Hispanic and American Indian voters and pay for expenses at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, people familiar with the matter said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation asked current and former officials from the state agency if any staff members in the governor?s office influenced CDR?s hiring, said the people, who declined to be identified because the proceedings are secret. Richardson, who is President-elect Barack Obama?s designate for Commerce Secretary, has a staff of at least 30 people.

?They?re looking at everything related to CDR,? William Sisneros, the finance agency?s chief executive officer, said of the FBI probe. ?They?re just trying to evaluate all the relationships to see what CDR was doing for the money.?... (more at the link)

We really need to subcontract all work out to space aliens to make sure that any Obama administration appointees have no conflict of interests problems with anyone on earth. And even then, the GOP would not be
happy and would invent new problems and suspicions out of thin air.

Even when the GOP had their rubber stamp congress and were becoming corruption central at K street while violating domestic an international law, ole non Prof John saw and heard no evil, and now I look forward to at least four years of PJ crying wolf well before any facts.

Topic Summary: culture of corruption surrounds Obama and he is not even in office

Hey, PJ -- I read the entire article. Please show us where anyone says anything other than that an investigation is happening. Your own title refers to a "possible pay to play scheme" and that Richarson's donor is "being looked at." I found ZERO accusations or statements that there is any hard evidence, whatsoever, that Richardson has done ANYTHING wrong.

OTOH, you are a documented, profligate Bushwhacko sycophant liar who has posted nothing but lies, deceit, distractions and diversions from the truth about your Traitor In Chief and his gang of traitors, murderers, torturers, war criminals and war profiteers since you first logged onto the forums.

Sheesh! You even lied when you posted that you wouldn't be posting until after the first of the year.

Come back when you have hard proof of any wrongdoing by Richardson or any other member of Obama's staff, and I'll join you in calling for thier prosecution. Are you willing to do the same about the Bushwhacko criminals and their DOCUMENTED crimes? :Q

Perfesser Johnnie Goebbels rides again ... and still doesn't get it.

Even McCain has called out the RNC. Darth Cheney has warned that ""the Republican Party will forever be known as the party of Herbert Hoover" or as I prefer it, "" Bu-Hoo "".

The 'Great Obstructionist Party' rolls into clueless oblivion.

The only valid part of non Prof John's post is the fact that an Albuquerque grand jury has opened up an investigation of CDR. And while there is some validity to the claim that a clever prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, we are not even there yet. So three question remain. (1) Will anything be found to base any claims of law violations on? And if so, will an indictment of criminal prosecution be issued by the grand jury? Because often grand juries do not follow the prosecutors lead and become jokers in the deck. (2) Will the evidence be strong enough to obtain a conviction? Or will a judge says the evidence is so weak and tainted and hence can't be used. (3) And since this may be a probe at the justice department level, the assistant AG may well not survive in job tenure long after 1/20/2009 when a new Obama administration may fire some or all of the existing assistant level AG which is always the right of an incoming President. And if the New Mexico area assistant AG's is not retained, it will be up to the new Obama
replacement AG to take a fresh look at the case.

As for me, if there is proof of corruption, regardless of party, it should be prosecuted. But the chance of this actually going to trial is many many bridges away, and even then, any criminal wrong doing may not taint Richardson at all. Meanwhile until actual evidence comes in, this whole thing is more idle fantasy than anything else.

Wait, what?

Grand Jury Probes Richardson Donor?s New Mexico Financing Fee

Oh I see, PJ got his facts wrong. As usual. The grand jury is probing the company (CDR Financial Products Inc.) not Richardson.

Get your shit straight, PJ, or we'll probe you someplace uncomfortable next.

What pj is going after are people who read the titles only. In his own tiny little way he wants to help his party. You notice he starts these things and then runs away from them never to mention them again.

The title of this thread is extremely misleading, and the conclusions Pro-Jo is trying to draw from it are mighty thin.

Nope, just you know, overcame centuries of national racial prejudice to get elected president while sharing the name of a middle eastern dictator during an economic meltdown during which people usually vote for the safe experienced candidate instead of the fresh new guy and has since achieved and maintained consistently high approval ratings and broad bi-partisan support for his experienced qualified centrist cabinet picks.

Yeah, things look like they're really in the shitter for Obama.

One of the people called to testify before the Albuquerque grand jury said federal investigators asked if Richardson?s office directed the state agency to select CDR. Investigators also asked about how responses to a request for investment advisory services were scored.

Another person familiar with the probe said the thrust of the investigation is whether people in Richardson?s office influenced the selection of CDR

Ayup. Don't see any indication that they are even remotely probing Richardson.
