Have they decided a debate date yet? Man I'm going to tivo the hell out of that. I know McBush has had 3+ months to prepare while Obama has had what? A week? So the notion that McCain and Obama should debate in town halls (so soon anyway) is just crazy.

I'd like to see an uncut 2 hour debate with no moderator and a mixed audience, because Obama will most likely have the crowd on his side (that is, if you've seen McCain with crowd's of 75,000 people then perhaps I'm mistaken, maybe 77 people but...).

Has the Obama camp said when they are willing to debate? If so, will they only be broadcast on Cable, or national networks? That actually leads me to another question, are ALL presidential debates nationally televised? I watched all of the primary debates and only a small handful were nationally televised.

This has been the wackiest election so far. From Ron Paul to the showdown between Hillary and Obama. And I have a feeling we haven't seen anything yet.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard my GF say to me, "if you say one more thing about Ron Paul,..." I'd be a wealthy man.

Yes, a real debate where the participants are speaking to each other, not playing to an audience. I would prefer that there be no audience at all infact... I want to hear reasoned discourse, not cheers and jeers.

Doubt we'll see anything but a media circus with more stupid fluff questions and grandstanding and a complete lack of substance :frown:

I agree, I'm tired of the lack of substance. I've seen some of Obama's talks in non-crowd areas and I find that to be much much more interesting than the stump speech.

taking the single-network sponsored debates off the table seemed like a good start.

if any 2 candidates *would* ever have a real debate with eachother, these two seem the most likely.

I wonder how much this election is gonna cost tax payers. To me, it seems every 4 years more and more money keep on getting spent.... I say let's just save a few billion put it towards the debt, and flip a coin... what's the diff? who ever gets in is still gonna help out the rest...

Now if we voted a 3'rd party cleared out the house and senate ... then I'd be all for it. but until then business as usual.

Err....Donations? More and more donations = more $$$ spent for campaigns? It doesn't have to cost you anything if you don't donate ;)
