Not saying anything good or bad about Obama,...
(not what this thread is intended to do,... it is more of our perception of those "leading" us and how they are portrayed, viewed, perceived,...)

but do you think, that maybe we perceive he is more competent due to his smooth speeches,... Bush more incompetent due to his word flubs,... and that maybe things like this have something to do with both situations and influence our perception of them?

People used to make fun of Reagan and that he was a puppet on strings,... but I would think that would be more so if they are using technology and a team behind the curtains to dictate the perfect answers and have Obama just read,.... after all any politician can read,... maybe not comprehend, but read.

Afterthought,... maybe Biden should stick to a teleprompter all the time too??? (his flubs remind me of Bush's flubs already,...)

Before teleprompters people held big cards just below the speech givers.

Nothings changed except the public is listening to the entire speech rather than one or two line sound bites.

I can assure that Bush's lack of public speaking skills or vocabulary had nothing to do with his well deserved reputation for incompetence :)

Whats the Op`s problem?
Does the Op realize that ALL politicians use a teleprompter?
So is the Op trying to one up winnar111 for worthless threads?
This such a non - issue that I nominate this thread for non - issue of the year!!

It's actually an interesting link, and shows a weakness of Obama I wasn't aware of. But I prefer someone using a prompter to deliver this thoughts carefully and correctly over someone unable to deliver unmangled sentences even with notes.

First the cigarettes, then the addiction to tax and spend, and now this. All point to an addictive personality.

Obama could just where this everywhere. He'd fit in with the other mentally challenged people wearing helmets.

Of course Obama or anyone else does better with a teleprompter.

A writer may have a rough idea of a novel, plot, characters, great literary themes, yada yada, but most things go through many revisions in going from an idea to the final Polished finished product.

But any that think Obama does not have a basic philosophy down pat, evidently did not listen to the initial Obama Joe the plumber exchange. It took a few minutes of off the cuff explanations to show Joe how and why Obama was right on tax policy, sure Obama could have done better if given a few hours to formulate a legal brief to that effect, but it was a hard question that came out of nowhere and an answer was required off the cuff.

Oh well, I guess it just goes to show that Obama is human and is not the messiah.

Zero needs his blankie.

In other news, Zero gave Gordon Brown a nice set of DVDs that included Star Wars IV but not V and VI.....and were region encoded so Brown can't even play them.

What a punk.

Well it's a very relevant story because it's proof positive that Obama is just a very below-average intellect, and the only reason he speaks pretty is because he's reading someone else's ideas.

Subtext = See, black people really are dumb.

Conclusion: bigoted people can post crap equally well as anyone else.

What's your point again?

Bobby Gindall was using a teleprompter too and it came off as if he's reading a night time story....

I would be interested in hearing how eloquent and confident he sounds without the crutch.

Yes of course there are things more important than Obama's use of the teleprompter but that isn't really the point here. A big part of the reason he was elected is because he is such a great speaker but obviously he isn't yet at this point. Would he be elected if he was a stuttering fool the entire time? Would 60 million people have bought into his policies?

I'm sure he has his ideas straight in his head, but they sound a lot more ridiculous than they already are when they aren't explained in an eloquent way.

Then again, maybe he really just doesn't know what he is talking about? Would not come as a surprise....

OMFG!! Let's impeach Obama for being prepaired.

In his first press conference which was universally reviewed as very good, his answers to questions were not on a teleprompter.

While I have always believed Obama isnt as smooth a public speaker as people made him out to be due to his reliance on a tele-prompter. My question is who cares?
