I don't see a Red Dawn situation happening anytime soon.
WOLVERINES!
I was referring more to a full scale military assault on the aggressor nation, but feel free to keep cracking jokes.

So let's start be diverting that $128M from the military to NASA. So many technological advances were made via the space program that trickled down to civilian life. That's where we'll really benefit, by progressing. Not spending money on the same old shit.
Maybe bring back the battleship? More expensive you would think tho.
you can support 4 battleships for every aircraft carrier
But an aircraft carrier is about ten times more useful than a battleship and has probably twenty times the combat power.
Linked article says replacement missile program is not ready.
No replacement and current stockpile will be depleted by 2018.

nasa needs all the money it can find
and that will also upgrade our ability to fight in space

And you think they will be depleted by 2018?

The same people who constantly complain that we waste too much money feeding, housing, and caring for US citizens appear to desperately want us to instead spend that money on building missiles and putting them in a warehouse.
How does a single Borg ship have the payload to destroy an entire planet?
And don't give me that "assimilation of Death Star computer system crap."
Those imperial access codes are all super secret. Only top Imperial Brass, many, many Bothan spies, and a dashing space smuggler and his pet bear have access to those!
