Snip from the article:

?Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States,? Obama planned to say in a victory celebration in St. Paul, Minn., at the site of the convention that will nominate his Republican opponent in the fall, Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Not up on CNN yet.

Fox news has it on front page as AP reporting that Obama has the nomination:

Snip from the article:

Barack Obama has won the Democratic presidential nomination, The Associated Press reports, based on superdelegate endorsements that have not yet been made public.

THANK GOD IT'S OVER

Although I kind of wish the supers had waited until tomorrow so that there was at least the perception that the voters were really the ones who pushed him over the top, at this point he already had a majority of delegates so it doesn't really matter. Now I'm assuming talk of who the running mate will be will dominate the news starting next week. Hopefully this week will be all about marking this down as a historic event (which it is!) and Hillary can mend a few wounds and convince the more radical of her supporters (like those we saw at the rules committee hehe) to get on board with Obama.

weird, you'd think he'd been the overwhelming front-runner since January or something.

One can only hope the Clinton camp and their supporters bow out gracefully. Conrats to the two major party winners at last. Good luck to them both, I will be voting for neither one.

PWNED.

Now most of the CLinton supporters who claimed otherwise will in fact support Obama, and those who never were read aesop's fable as kids, well sucks to be you :)

Congrats, Obama!

Man I'm in a great mood, this snipped at the end of the MSNBC article gets me all dreamy and hopeful inside:

Obama could also look outside the party to such people as anti-war Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska or independent New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Hagel would rock because of his candor (I lived in Nebraska for a while, both the senators there are pretty cool)... Bloomberg would probably be the best thing that could happen for pork and the economy. Richardson would be the best thing that could happen for changing the U.S.'s world opinion back around. 2009 could shape up to be a fantastic year folks!

/anyway not to derail my own thread, just excited!

No Clinton? Looks like my vote goes to Bob Barr.

While I would consider voting Libertarian for sure if I liked their candidate the best (I am independent and will NOT vote for a lesser of two evils)....I also don't believe that a problem can be only solved one way but that said:

Barr's stands on the issues are VERY different from Clinton's. Obama's are very similar. Just curious what your reasons are for voting that way. Personal?

I don't know, seeing all these excited people makes me laugh. I wonder if they were shocked and surprised at the end of Titanic.

Well, it's been over for months imho but that is not the same as having it finally be official. Many things will change now. The way that the media's focus will change by having this race officially over is imho, a huge reason to be happy it finally is.

Anyway, off to go clean the litter box and check on my pizza dough ^_^.
