Ending this moron war will be one of Obama's greatest achievements.
After all... that is how he won against Hillary. And the democrats won along with him back in 2008. And if for no other reason Obama is doing this, just to say to every republican as well as John McCain... FU. Go for it Mr President!!!!! It is long past due...

This announcement is primarily an acceptance of failure on our part to negotiate terms we felt were quite important. From every indication I've seen Obama wanted a different outcome but finally accepted the reality of the situation.

I'm afraid Iraq is now moving to embrace Iranian influence and that is undeniably bad for our national interest, as well as that for many other countries in the region.

You don't know this its just conjecture on your part.

The one thing we do know, IT'S THEIR COUNTRY!!! The Iraqui parliment would not give our troops immunity to stick around so we have to leave.

He got in, kicked ass on the enemies, and cleaned up the mess of the failed republican wars.

Now...can he clean up the shitheap economy the republicans and his own cronies heaped upon the working people of America?

Good job on flinging mud all over the moron right wingers though, Republicans have always had a disgraceful foreign policy record. It was annoying seeing them act tough, the whole time their leaders are a bunch of chickenshit draft dodgers. Well played Obama!

But he will not get a bit of trust from me until I see these banksters out of the government.

The situation is utterly inexcusable, most of those people should be in jail, not running our #%&!@ economy.

Obama's grade on foriegn policy has been an A

Notice how this is the one area Republicans can't obstruct?

or it's because it's largely been taken out of his hands.

Iraq’s prime minister said Saturday that U.S. troops are leaving Iraq after nearly nine years of war because Baghdad rejected American demands that any U.S. military forces to stay would have to be shielded from prosecution or lawsuits.

The comments by Nouri al-Maliki, a Shiite, made clear that it was Iraq who refused to let the U.S. military remain under the Americans’ terms...

“When the Americans asked for immunity, the Iraqi side answered that it was not possible,” al-Maliki told reporters in Baghdad. “The discussions over the number of trainers and the place of training stopped. Now that the issue of immunity was decided and that no immunity to be given, the withdrawal has started

we're not pulling troops out of Iraq because Obama is anti-war and wants to bring the troops home, we're pulling out because the Iraqi government rejected our demands for immunity.

as recently as 2 weeks ago, the Obama admin was talking about leaving "thousands" of troops in Iraq.

Honestly that's what the military was expecting too. I thought we'd have ~15,000 troops in Iraq for the next 20 years, training their security forces and providing us a regional base of operations.

Some thank you we've received from them after liberating them from a dictator and clearing their country of WMDs: they won't even sell us any oil and tell us to GTFO.

The smart thing to do would have been to stomp Iran when we still had thousands of tanks and 100k troops in Iraq.

Neocons rule the world!

What we got out of Iraq was ~$1T in debt, thousands killed & many more wounded & maimed, and revenge for Saddam plotting to kill Dubya's daddy.

If we want a lot more of the same, then the invasion of Iran is just the ticket.

Well if you people weren't screaming about America becoming an empire the whole time, maybe we could have taken something of value.
