Thats what happens when 65 mil blind ppl ignore the work "Hussein"

You wonder why the left says people like you are so ignorant you're a menace to society, not a legitimate political 'side'.

Yes, his *name* having nothing to with anything that 'Barack' or 'Obama' don't also have to do with, is why you should not vote for him.

You don't understand you are a conditioned little animal to hear the word 'Hussein' and feel fear and hate, and that political operatives who want to trick you into voting for an agenda bad for you use your conditioning to get you to transfer your emotions to Barack Hussein Obama, the way beer sellers get you to transfer them with pretty girl pictures.

I dont know if you know this but there was an Orthodox (Christian) Church that was damaged during 9-11, but they were denied a permit to rebuild because it would bee taller than the 9-11 memorial. However, it is ok if they build a Mosque that is even taller than that.

you have proof of that?

This one?
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/19/nyregion/19church.html?_r=1&partner=rss&emc=rss

Last July, the Port Authority and the Greek Orthodox Church announced a tentative plan to rebuild the church just east of its original site, at Liberty and Greenwich Streets. The authority agreed to provide the church with land for a 24,000-square-foot house of worship, far larger than the original, and $20 million. Since the church would be built in a park over the bomb-screening center, the authority also agreed to pay up to $40 million for a blast-proof platform and foundation.

In recent negotiations, the authority cut the size of the church slightly and told church officials that its dome could not rise higher than the trade center memorial. The church, in turn, wanted the right to review plans for both the garage with the bomb-screening center and the park, something the authority was unwilling to provide. More important, authority officials said, the church wanted the $20 million up front, rather than in stages. Officials said they feared that the church, which has raised about $2 million for its new building, would come back to the authority for more.

Hamas Leader: Mosque Near Ground Zero Must Be Built

NEW YORK — A Hamas leader says Muslims "have to build" a mosque near ground zero.

Mahmoud al-Zahar said Muslims "have to build everywhere" so that followers can pray, just like Christians and Jews build their places of worship.

Al-Zahar spoke Sunday on "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" on WABC-AM. He is a co-founder of Hamas and its chief on the Gaza Strip.

Sen. Chuck Schumer says Al-Zahar's comments don't carry any weight because Hamas is a terrorist organization. Schumer hasn't taken a stand on the mosque.

Rep. Peter King, who opposes the mosque, says he won't respond to Hamas.

The mosque is a project of the Cordoba Initiative, an advocacy group that promotes improved relations between Islam and the West. It didn't respond to Al-Zahar's comments.

No surprise here. Terrorist leader comes out in support of victory mosque near ground zero. Maybe Obama will fly him in and they can do the ribbon -cutting ceremony together.

This for sure and nicely worded.

Looks like it was this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Nicholas_Greek_Orthodox_Church but it also looks like piasabird was making shit up. The church was across the street; the community center (with mosque inside) might be taller, but it is not across the street and it is not like there aren't taller buildings in the neighborhood that the community center will occupy. (But realistically, height shouldn't matter anyway for anything, because there are plenty of taller buildings throughout the city, both immediately around the memorial and in other areas.)

The plans for rebuilding the World Trade Center complex include building a new St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church quite close to the original location.[1] The church will again house a worshipping congregation. A museum will also be built for the projected large influx of visitors that will come to the site.
On July 23, 2008, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reached a deal with the leaders of the church for the Port Authority to acquire the 1,200-square-foot (110 m2) lot that the church had occupied for $20 million. $10 million is coming from the Port Authority and $10 million is coming from JPMorgan Chase & Co.

It was just a distasteful joke on the right rhetoric, but you are a grade A idiot, you and all the other ppl like you. You guys just wont let the fact pass though you thick skull. the analogy of OJ was such a utter nonsense, you are a moron. All the main opponents are asking only these question, WHO is building it and WHAT are his intention? and WHERE is he getting the funding from?

Muslims have a history of building victory monuments. They are all over the place, all over the globe, most of the ppl who oppose it are just asking for an investigation on this sharia law thumping asshole before he is given permission.

thats just fucking wrong. why is tax payer money going to it?
20 MILLION plus a large plot of land!? WTF!

..and 40 million for the foundation.

...

that's insane.

will say that the size of the dome shouldn't matter. its not like the memorial will be the tallest thing around.

It could just be money to help them rebuild what was there before.

roughtly 60 million is insane. its not that they are getting to be rebuilt as before its they are rebuilding a larger building and complaining they can't go as high as they want (legitimate complaint)

as i said with the mosque no taxpayer money should be going to this or the state shouldn't be saying how they can build (long as zoneing is ok)..and saying you can't build larger then the memorial is not a valid reason.

Yeah I dont get that either. Maybe nothing in NYC from here on out, within Xft radius of Ground Zero can be built higher than the memorial... I mean due to the sensitivities of the subject at hand and all.

Whether or not it's an unpopular thing to say, it's also correct. There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that would prohibit building a mosque anywhere on private property.

I agree. $60million to the Church does seem excessive.

its not like its in the middle of the country and there aren't a shit load of tall buildings around it. its rather silly to keep them from building taller.

let them build 100 fucking stories if they can afford it. makes no difference. its not like its going to make the memorial mean any less.

I agree. I don't get it at all. It's like every building is now getting put through a non-identical wringer... which is not how zoning works at all.

Likely speaking ignorantly here, but don't they have insurance to rebuild? Or does insurance not cover an act of Allah?

thats what i was thinking. shouldn't they have had insurance?..would it even cover it? guess they would claim act of war though.

60 million is going to build a hell of a church though. considering the city gave them property.
