Obviously he has inherited the worst mess of any prez since the 1920's. How do we think he is doing so far. His programs are forward looking and will work in the long run, or cause us a world of hurt?

Poll needs more choices. I voted 'doing well' as it is only just above neutral for me.

should make choices for 1-10 so you can graph the rate of approval, not that it matters since plenty of pollsters have daily tracking polls so we know generally how he's doing.

I thought about that... but went with yes and no, rather than diluting the results with kinda sorta type stuff. Either we think he is doing well or we dont.

Ya, that's about what I would say. Really a C to C+ on effectiveness, but a full point/letter upgrade for degree of difficulty... whereas Bush I would give an F . A solid F, if there were a lower grade I would give that one. =)

the urgency of now has given way to the urgency of getting reelected.

C... could be worse, but nothing really impressive or even hopeful.

Other than throwing billions of tax payer dollars into a black hole, yeah, he's doing just fine.

I think his economic stimulus package has been a failed gambit, and we'll be paying it off for decades to come.

Funny. That's just what people said about Bush. Except the last part.

Obama has jacked up the national debt more in one year than Bush did in 8 years. There's a magnitude of difference. Bush also inherited an economy heading towards recession and did a decent job preventing it from spiraling out of control, as well as turning it around. I have not yet seen that from Obama.

Yes, but... Obama's spending is all stimulus and bailouts put in to fix the economy that Bush broke.

Mui difference... So that falls into the "inherited the worst mess of any prez since the 1920's." Most economists agree it had to be done.

If paying your mortgage with a credit card is staying "above water", then I guess.

Yes, the economy is screwed, but it is in absolutely no way Obama's fault. Bush takes the fall for that one.

LOL - I know. as if Bush's January 2009 economy was under control and it just took a crap in February when Obama took the wheel.

No he didn't.

He sold out our long-term economic needs for short-term growth. All he did was re-inflate the bubble.
