It certainly was the right thing to do. Obama is quickly gaining the trust of the public. Now that this is out in the open, the US will be free to torture in secret. This has always been the plan. The public will never know what goes on in the shadows. This is how things should have been from the start. Bush was too foolish to do things this way, so I am glad that Obama is changing that.

You're pathetic. That's not what Obama is about. But then again, you are secretly a communist traitor to the country.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Win the hearts and minds of the people, and you can do anything and they will defend you until their last breath.

Pointing out that you are making bizarre lies up is called 'telling the truth'. You appear unfamiliar with it.

You are clearly ignorant in your pit of paranoia of how these things are done.

If Obama wanted to do as you say, which he doesn't, there's other language for him to use to distance himself from Bush while keeping his options open.

The way he has done it has exposed him pretty strongly to any evidence coming out that if he were 'secretly approving torture', it'd have big political consequences for him.

And it's all too easy for that evidence to come out. You think the Bush administration wanted the massive amounts of info that have come out about them to come out?

All it took was some guy who wanted to expose the truth, some guy who wants to expose Obama and hurt him politically, some guy at Abu Ghraib who takes photos like before.

The had secret CIA prisons in other, totalitarian countries. That wasn't supposed to be public knowledge.

I'm sure there's a lot that doesn't come out - which we should all remember. But he'd be reckless to say what he's said and secretly torture.

Obama doesn't have to "secretly approve" of torture for it to happen. He would be a fool to do so. He is smart enough to have distanced himself from these things and has plans in place for if/when such information does come out. This is just common sense.

So, it has "always been the plan" for Obama to deny we torture publically, but for torture to continue in secret, but Obama has not secretly approved it.

So, Obama has no idea that against his direct orders it's going on, but you have informed us. You might want to call 212-456-1414 and warn him about these lawbreakers.

Let's be clear, you are saying Obama has no idea it's going on, right? Otheriwse, he did 'secretly approve it'. Why am I typing anything to you?

You do have a point! I am ignorant and paranoid. I really have no clue how these things are done. Forgive me because I am a Republican!

Demagogues understand this well, and it's why demagogues are both seen as dangerous - and popular with their followers. Talk radio is just a great delivery means for it.

I had a real problem with the democrats pulling the rage/fear card the last several years and I have a real problem with using that tactic now in the republican party. They wont gain anyhting. I wish I could talk to some of these leaders and shake them awake lol.

Real ideas well explained are what win people over long term. Getting support through rage and fear is only a short term bump at best and very unhealthy for whatever party uses it long term. Its obvious that part of being a politician is being an actor, someone that can make a sale, and thats just dissappointing.

So, is that what he said, or is your title just inflammatory?

Jump to Obama's defense much? Obviously thats what I got initially. Waiting for someone to upload a video to confirm.

No, not jumping to his defense, I just find it odd you would say something that would be a pretty hot topic in the title and then admit in the OP that you don't even know if that is true.
