I don't doubt for a minute that Obama and the rest of the politicians lies, but this is pale compares to the Iraq WMD claimed by Bush and Co that cost hundreds of thousands of innocent lives and trillion of dollars (and the funny thing is the average American populous re-elected one of the worst liar, murderer, and war criminal in the 21st century to be its POTUS).

Given the info in the op, do you think Benghazi offers any object lessons for the left as well? If so, what are they?

There is no left in US politics. Just the middle/right democrats and the off the cliff right Republicans. Disagreeing with the right does NOT make someone automatically left, no matter what your masters would have you believe.

I just love it when a President is mostly scandal-free.

If this is the best that could be found about Obama over the last 8 months, then you SHOULD love it... Manufactured outrage over 8 months means that the president has done an outstanding job. 4 deaths in a foreign hellhole is nothing new, especially considering way more than that died at embassies under the last president... things have finally cooled down. He could have lied to have us occupy a random foreign country for 10+ years, incompetently run another occupation, start torturing, spying on american citizens, create a security theater organization, and deregulate until the entire world's economy collapses!

MY masters? lol, that is rich. Anyway, if you would have seen and understood the context in which I used the word left you would not have made this comment I reckon.

And there is a 'left' in the US, which is obvious to you since you used the word 'right'. That group may be considered 'right' or moderate elsewhere, but since it is to the left of the right, and we are using these terms in the context of a spectrum which is key, I think it is fair to use that term. We all know what it refers to regardless of any pedantry you wish to bring up.

In short, 'left' means those who are 'left' of the 'right' wherever that may put them on the grand scale political spectrum.

Another reason why I don't really like these labels as well as liberal/conservative as well but it is unavoidable in this forum. They tend to make people put everything into boxes.

Yes, you heard right... your masters. By mislabeling, you are doing their bidding quite well!

So, if there is a 1 and a 10 on a spectrum, that is the same as if there is a 10 and a 9.5... Because 9.5 IS 'left' of 10... That makes total sense!

No, "we" all don't... the Democrats are to the right of every other first world countries' conservative parties. In US politics, the democrats hold the place that the republicans held a little over 10 years ago... Call them what they are... the democrats and republicans, if you want... but don't call the democrats "left"... There are NOT two extremes in this country.. there are the insane right and the right of center...

Indeed. And the bat shit crazy right keeps moving more and more people to the right of center because they can't stand the direction this party has taken the past few years. This is not the Grand Old Party anymore...

How does the "right" feel about Iraq where 4,000 died?
Why is this about the right or left? Aside from the words describing the attack I don't think it's OK for the commander and chief to go to bed during an attack on a US embassy.

When did we stop calling ourselves Americans first? It's pretty pathetic of both extreme "sides" of this discussion.

For those here too dense to understand, I offer relevant points long in evidence to consider.

The C.I.A. appeared to be the primary target. They wanted a little breathing room to collect more info and make a better assessment. That meant delaying the full release of information immediately.

Various agencies were tasked with elements of trying to identify and capture the perps. The hope was that not revealing everything they knew right away might give a false sense of security to the perps that could be exploited.

I have seen absolutely no evidence that there was any intent to specifically deceive the American public. There was a delay releasing all of the info to gain advantage against the perps specifically but which also necessitated a generic news delay. Not a one of you can prove that there was no intention to release more info after a short time frame to see if the tactic helped. The government absolutely knew that others would eventually piece together the big picture, though with their more limited resources it would take longer ( the time buffer they hoped to use to advantage). The government had no intention to write a lie for history.

For the truly ignorant, I'd like to point out that temporarily withholding the sum total of information has been used by both law enforcement and the military for a very long time and many times in the past to great effect.

And I suppose some of you out there are the equivalent of a modern day Kreskin with mystic powers. The attack came at a small outpost. No one would have sent battalions of security personnel (nor could the station have supported it). Would 2 or 4 or 10 have prevented any American deaths? Would they have just been more targets for the perps resulting in a larger death toll?

I wish I could distinguish which groups of people are the ones too lazy to think and those that are incapable of it.

Well said.

Damage control, damage control!

You can always tell when something is of deep concern because the progs rally behind Dear Leader even more tightly.

This one started off Broadway but I think it's gonna be a long runner.

This is about the largest amount of unsupported tripe I think I've ever read here. You deep-sixed yourself with the second to last paragraph. Right there is where you tipped your hand that the whole post is nothing but hopeful conjecture. Your mystic powers are sub-par.

I took bo months to 'find out the facts' about Benghazi , but he knew about the gay basketball player instantly and called him with warm love that same day . What a leader he is not .

Kinda had an entire Congress siding with him on that one. Try again.
