Well I guess he needed to do this since so many people are retarded and think he's a Muslim and a whole host of other things:

http://www.fightthesmears.com

Also to people who think he will raise your taxes. If you make over 2.9MILLION a year, yes he will. Otherwise, you will save more money under his plan.

According to an independent non-partisan research group in Washington these are McCain's and Obama's tax plans in as clear as day English.

Average Tax Bill
Income: $38,000 - $66,000
McCain: -$319
Obama: -$1,042

Income $66,000 - $112,000
McCain: -$1,009
Obama: -$1,290

Income: 112,000 - 161,000
McCain: -$2,614
Obama: -$1,204

Income: 2,900,000+
McCain: -$269,364 (Yes, thats savings)
Obama: +$701,885 (Yes, thats $$$ increased)

Talk about leveling the playing field. Obama will save 95% of American's MORE money that McCain. Unless your like every AT user that makes over 2.9 MILLION a year, he will raise those taxes. The reason is that percentage wise, lower income american's pay more for taxes than the insanely rich - their taxes cap at a certain number (98,000?) and no longer increase. Obama wants to lift the cap so everyone pays the same % of income. I think that's fair, don't you?

CNN Ran through these numbers conducted by this research group, youtube video.

The saddest part is that in today's USA, a country guided by one of the most progressive and advanced political writings ever, calling someone a Muslim is a "smear".

At the bottom it says it is Powered by Truth. Working in IT, I think my boss could appreciate this. Is it a new application server I can look into?

Well I don't blame Obama for 'fighting' the smear. I blame the populace for forcing the fight in the first place.

Look at all the tools that insist on referring to him only as "Hussein" and it makes sense.

You don't say... Tell me Mork, does sarcasm not exist on your planet?

As for the whole Muslim as a smear... I think intentionally calling someone by a different religion than the one they practice is always a bit of a smear. It's intentionally misrepresenting their beliefs. It's obvious that calling Obama a Muslim is only done because Muslims are viewed with great disdain in our country at the moment, so in that context, you are absolutely correct. But even if they were saying Obama was a Buddhist or whatever, that's somewhat of a smear.

AHHHH!!!

I've worked with so many people over the last decade in IT that I didn't even question having to explain something that simple to someone.

I need to get out more. :)

I do too. Every time I hear the smear, my first instinct has always been to say, "Why should it matter?" rather than to say, "No, he's not Muslim. Don't worry."

Oh populace...

[Edit] Still, I think that every clearing of this "smear" should start with the phrase, "Sen. O holds deep respect for the Muslim community, however..."

I somehow do not ever see that coming to pass if he is elected, I mean there is a reason the middle class carries the heaviest tax burden in the US and the reason is the rich wield a lot more power.

I think this is nothing but a ?make me look good? ploy by Obama to garnish votes from the middle and lower class simply because he can not win with out them.

The other thing to consider is because the power of the wealthy is so great, even if he really intended to try this tax scheme one way or another he will have a big about face once in office.

In the end I think the middle class will get hit harder than ever before in history, so hard it might break that class altogether.

You are all wrong, Truth is a word only employed by liars.

Now a days, one is always advised to to have a fully functional sarcasm meter and a very effective bullshit detector running 24/7 on the server of your mind.

Or we could get to the heart of the matter by examining the giant gaps between GWB&co promised theoretical results, and the results we actually see.

Lets see, as I recall, the Iraq war was supposed to cost 50 billion tops, quote the raven nevermore.

As I ponder weak and weary, I need some more bullshit to be not leary, rapping rapping at my chamber door.

How is he gonna pay for all the additional programs he is proposing if he cuts our tax burden?
Sounds too good to be true.

Amazing what not spending $100B/yr in Iraq can do
