Heh. not surprising.

Facts don't matter, because it's all Obama's fault. Everything. Ask our resident Righties. Everything they don't like is attributed to Obama. Rush called it the Obama Recession before the guy was even sworn in, and if Rush said it, well, then it's obviously the truth, even if they can't possibly figure out how it could be. Same with Tarp- they don't have to think, they have to believe.

Obama clearly has magical and mystical powers- He even faked his own birth announcement in the Hawaii newspaper. Devious, huh?

...and people keep wondering why Obama keeps pointing out Who is responsible for all this.

In their defense with all the money being thrown out by Washington it can be hard to keep track of who, when.

I dunno... somewhere along the way the True Bush Constituency turned the Ownership Society into a looting spree, nearly rode their corporate ponies into the dirt, so W had to bail 'em out, get 'em back up on the horse so they could go after it again...

Obama made 'em do it, honest... all of it. Obama used mind control to engineer the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, forced the fiscally conservative Republicans to cut taxes to finance it, too... He even forced bankers to sell liars' loans, bundle 'em into triple A rated asswipe, sell 'em to our pension plans and 401k's. Honest, it's the truth- Rush told me. They all lost money doing it, too. It's all Obama's fault.

To paraphrase H.L. Mencken:

No one ever lost an election by underestimating the ignorance of the American public.

People get the government they deserve. It's entirely possible that that government is of George W Bush or Sarah Palin variety.

We should be completely honest here.

Obama won't be in trouble until the GOP's candidate can figure out how to raise even 70 percent as much money as he can during a presidential election.

McCain's fundraising efforts were abysmal, comparatively. And have you been to GOP.com lately? :laugh;

Not at all surprising.

The same group of people probably believe the nonsense about Obame tripling the deficit.

That's politics for you, the truth doesn't matter, only popular perception does.

The public doesn't give a damn because no matter what the people want Washington finds a way to do what they want anyway. The public is a technicality that politicians have to tolerate.

Independents are smarter than both parties. :awe:

If we were to take P&N as a microcosm that shouldn't suprise anyone :D

It saddens me how many people have no idea whats going on even in local government let alone participate in voting. We had ~23% turn out for the primaries here. Lot's of people bitch - very few seem to care about educating themselves on the issues and actually vote

True, I sympathize with him. Poor guy did so much for the country since he became president, threw so much money at the economy and gave immense "hope" to the ppl that everything will be OK. Increased entitlement to unthinkable levels to help the poor. He has truly worked relentlessly since he became president and never took a day as long as the country was suffering record unemployment.
He gave precedence to the MOST important issues plaguing the country like health care and illegal immigration. He has stopped taking over of the part of this country by Mexican drug lords by sending 10s of thousand of border security personals to the border cities...
Yet noone in this country believe in him, hell, the ppl in other countries appreciate him more and see his true worth, they proved their support by conferring the Nobel peace prize upon him... but we in this county are a bunch of ingreats

Is this really surprising? I'd like to see what % of voters actually know what TARP stands for and what it is. I remember a poll coming out when TARP was being debated and I can't remember the number but something like 20-30% of voters got it correct on a 5 choice multiple choice question.

Edit: 26% of respondents didn't know health care reform was passed this year. Whether you are for or against it I just don't understand how anyone could not have heard this. I hope these people don't vote.

And some of the more rabid voters are likely the people who can't answer those sorts of questions - they just go to vote the party line. D:
