In my opinion conservatives are authoritarians and that means they are vindictive assholes. If they don't control they will destroy anything that gets in the way of them reasserting that control. The one and only aim of an authoritarian is to have a position where authority can be exercised. An authoritarian without authority is like a man without a dick.

These are the assholes that hide behind faith, that only they deserve heaven, who know that hell on earth increases their membership.

Saying NO to everything is working out for them so far, it's paying off.

But let's assume they stay their course of saying No and manage to regain the White House in 2012. What they don't seem to care about, is that if nothing is done on these major problems, the country is going to be in worse shape come 2012 and they'll be inheriting it.

Will the GOP cooperate with Obama? Not until Hell freezes over. They will continue to self destruct (die trying from their viewpoint) until some people with some brains and vision come along and take the party away from the current leadership.

Reid and Pelosi won't work with him, why would the Republicans?

Republicans will work with him where they have common goals. So far that has not been the case. Only idiots who want to be praised in MSM would work with the opposition when it wants to destroy so much of what they value.

It is a continuing cycle that occurs when one side or the other gains the majority. No, the Reps will not cooperate with Obama, there is too much for them to gain. Now depending on the outcome of the midterm elections, they still won't. If they were smart (but that is taking a lot for granted), the conservative democrats and the liberal republicans should get together and take control after the midterm elections, put the bickering aside, and start to work together and get some deceint legislation passed.

If obama extends a hand republicans should return a clinched fist. This is what the people want, to reject Obama's willful and purposeful destruction of this nation.

I read the Time magazine column, click link:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20100204/us_time/08599195899600 : which says that Mr

Obama is reaching out to the Republcians to get them involved with running the government and has not gotten a positive response.

Do you think the GOP will work with Mr Obama? Do they have more to gain from voting no on everything?

What do you think?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally, I think its long past time for Obama and the entire democratic party to showcase GOP obstructionism and blame the GOP for it.

Which has been the GOP in denial strategy since 2004. In the election of 2006 and 2008, the GOP has gotten a giant dope slap from the American electorate, ever since the American people have said in opinion pole after opinion pole, that the GOP was leading America in the wrong direction.

Its hard to understand how the GOP will get rewarded in the election of 11/2010 for using the tyranny of the minority to leave the GOP policies of leading in the wrong direction in place by preventing change.

But still, I have to admit the American public is starting to buy that GOP argument, and unless the democrats call a spade a spade, the GOP may again get the congressional majority to lead the country in the wrong direction again. And then, the GOP will sow the seeds of their own destruction as everything gets worse.

He isn't reaching out to the reps for anything, he just wants to pretend that he's trying to be bipartisan. Before the MA election, he just gave them the option to agree to his socialist agenda, otherwise be cast aside. Now that he can't just cast them aside, he's pretending to be bipartisan because he's trying political damage control. They should tell him to go pound sand.

What they don't seem to care about, is that if nothing is done on these major problems, the country is going to be in worse shape come 2012 and they'll be inheriting it.

You're assuming that the things he's pushing are good for the country to begin with. Doing nothing is always better than doing more damage. Saying "no" to socialism is better than saying "yes" just because you have to "do something".

I want them to say "no" for the remainder of his term. No, no, no, no a thousand times no to all the crappy democrat ideas. Then regain control later.

Way to go reading racism into any negative comment about dear leader. You do realize Rahm is the chief of staff right?

I don't understand this. Until Mass he wouldn't work with them and acted like he did not need them. Now, he wants their help? Why, so he can get the credit when they work together? I see no political advantage for them in this. Apparently, he felt he did not need them before so the president can go fuck himself.

This argument is then premised on the assumption that there is no common ground between the two major political parties? I am following your line of argument, right? So let's take this to its logical conclusion.

Let's assume the republicans retake Congress and the WH at some point in time. Since there is no common ground between the two parties, and according to you, all opposition is truly principled and not political, then the dems will be duty bound to fillibuster every single piece of proposed republican legislation?

Are you really certain that all opposition is on grounds of principle here? Is the idea of a tax credit for small businesses another Bolshevik plot that republicans are duty bound (in all their high moral piety) to oppose? How about setting up a bi-partisan commission on deficit reduction? A bill co-sponsored by 7 republicans who backed out and didn't vote for their own bill when the time came. Was that too another Bolshevik plot which the republicans, valient protectors of the Holy Free Market with zero interest in getting re-elected by causing the opposing party to fail, of course, were duty bound to oppose?

You mean like the ~$300B in tax cuts that was rolled into ARRA?

Guess how many republicans voted for it.

LOL... Please explain *in detail* how Obama could do that when he would be hugely unpopular (as in far worse than now). I'd love to hear 'the master plan' you foresee.

This is about more than healthcare, it's no on everything and I can't see much socialism in closing Gitmo.

You guys just keep fiddling while the rest of us are trying to put out the fires, as more time passes the options available for averting disaster become less numerous.

It got a little bit slowed down with Scott Brown.

The first step is to demonize the producers and use class warfare to incite the middle class against them (he's just about there, but people are starting to wake up to this tactic and reject it thankfully).
Then in populist movement implement more restrictions, penalties and control, if not outright ownership of means of productions - banks, large manufacturers, 1/6th of economy (single payer health care he so desperately wants). Effectively convince the country that capitalism is the root of their problems.
Large tax credits to middle and lower class, wealth redistribution so government is viewed as the solution, the benevolent benefactor.

I don't know what the end game would be but he's just about there, but this country is stopping him somehow thankfully. His about face and change in tune since Scott Brown shows just how important that election was. Otherwise we'd be completely screwed.
