Obama leaves WH without press, breaking protocol

WASHINGTON — President Barack [HUSSEIN] Obama quietly breached years of protocol on Saturday morning by leaving the White House without the press with him.

About two hours before reporters were supposed to be in position to leave with the president, Obama left the grounds of the White House. Members of the press were told he was attending one of his daughter's soccer games in northwest Washington, D.C.

The White House press corps traditionally travels with the president anywhere he goes, inside and outside the country, to report on the president's activities for the benefit of informing the public and for historical record.

After Obama left, a press aide hastily gathered members of the media who happened to be at the White House early or working on other matters. They rushed to a van and left the White House to catch up with the president.

Too late. By the time, the press van appeared to arrive at the president's location, the press was told he was already departing. Time to go back to the White House.

Reporters and photographers didn't have a chance to see him or his vehicle to verify his presence at any location.

Although nobody outside the White House or the press may have noticed, Obama broke years of tradition.

The small press "pool" that accompanies the president had been told to gather at the White House at 11:30 a.m. He left about 9:20 a.m.

Asked what happened, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said: "The president decided this morning to attend his daughter's soccer game. The pool was assembled as soon as possible to be there as well."

Obama eventually left the White House again on Saturday for a round of golf. This time, the press was with him.

This may seem trivial, a sort of grasping for straws, but America is waking up what this Kenyan secret agent is doing.

He successfully evaded the eyes of The People just to go to a soccer game? I don't think so. We know what's really going on, B. HUSSEIN Obama! You can't pull the wool over our eyes that fast!

BHO was clearly on a secret trip to Rev. Wright's house to have a Muslim voodoo séance with the purpose of getting further instructions from Alinsky, Trotsky, and Chairman Mao! Everyone knows this.

A non-story at best. He broke protocol and didn't bring the press to his daughter's soccer game. Who cares? If any one of us were POTUS, we'd be tempted to do the EXACT SAME THING.

I think if I were President, I'd be breaking this protocol and several other protocols all the time. I can't stand any of the media (conservative or liberal), so I'd be saying to myself, "Find me if you can."

1. No inaugural ceremony or parade where it costs tax payers millions. A swearing in ceremony in the Oval Office would be good enough.

2. No white house Christmas Tree lighting or Easter Egg hunts, whatever costs the tax payers money would be canceled.

3. 3/4ths of the staff would be let go. I wouldn't be entertaining, state dinners and such would be canceled (there's work to do people). If you are a foreign diplomat coming for a visit, don't expect dinner. Only a essential skeleton staff would be kept.

4. If the press want to travel to whatever city/state/country that I happen to be in, they would be notified but they can travel there on their own dime.

5. Essential travel only, no flying all over the US to support candidates for election, and no flying to California for a haircut. No flying to G8 conferences, attend via teleconference.

6. I then would go after Congress to get rid of perks and staff.

QFT. Good for him. And kudos OP for the comical sarcasm.

I can only assume his disdain for America's vaunted Fourth Estate will earn him points with Republicans.

can we confirm that there was even a soccer game in the first place
i want pictures

There clearly wasn't a soccer game. This was a meeting of the New World Order. The Flying Spaghetti Monster touched Obama's brains with His Noodly Appendage, and now has absolute control over the country. :awe:

Good for him. Now if he would just follow through on Bush's original promise to re-open Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the Whitehouse.

i hope the daughter had a good game and nobody was hurt. wich is all that really matters in this story.

I think you guys miss the point.

The reason the press is with him all the time is incase something happens while he is on a trip like this.

What if there was another terrorist attack during this soccer game??

A better course of action would be to allow the press to come along, but keep them in the parking lot etc.

What difference does it make whether the press is there with him when there is a terrorist attack? The press doesn't have cell phones, laptops, and all the other modern means of communications the rest of us have? We've survived a lot of attacks without someone in the room with a camera pointed at the President.

I can't believe you don't realize that all of those with press badges have special ops training and are armed at all times. They serve as his vanguard defensive team. Without them he is like a lone sheep in a forest of wolves. When Obama travels without the press he puts the home land at risk.

Yeah, what if there was a terrorist attack and no press corps to catch him spending 40 minutes stammering through "My Pet Goat"?
