It's actually neither, as the Constitution never says 'freedom of religion'. The religious clauses of the first amendment do two things, guarantee the free exercise of religion and prohibit the preferential treatment of any religion over any other.

More importantly, the Supreme Court has explicitly spoken on how atheism relates to other religions for first amendment purposes: (Wallace v. Jaffree)

"At one time it was thought that this right merely proscribed the preference of one Christian sect over another, but would not require equal respect for the conscience of the infidel, the atheist, or the adherent of a non-Christian faith such as Islam or Judaism. But when the underlying principle has been examined in the crucible of litigation, the Court has unambiguously concluded that the individual freedom of conscience protected by the First Amendment embraces the right to select any religious faith or none at all."

Fuck no. Absolutely NO religion anywhere near government. Ever. I'd like to see it made a Class A felony in fact. While we're at it fix the pledge, fix our money, fix our motto, etc.

Absolutely. Not sure about the felony, but I completely agree with removing the unwarranted religious mentions from the trappings of government.

I've been repeating the original pledge since I was in 5th grade, and have always found the motto to be in uncomfortable contrast to what I learned about our nation's early days and our Constitution. Glad to see these sentiments getting more common all the time. Hopefully in the future my sons won't experience the ridicule and verbal abuse I did when as a boy I choose not to follow along in religilous histrionics.

The MSM has chosen not to talk about something that has absolutely no proof or factual basis, I'm shocked! I hear they've been refusing to talk about the extraterrestrial invasion of Seatlle as well. The media has done a lot to protect obama because they're biased. Many times they just use talking points from the obama admin and just trust obama. If they protect him this much then why would they expose him and the MB? Which I have provided evidence of.

Genau. I used to think he was just pretending, since it's necessary in the US, but after the last 5 years of bullshit, perhaps he really is christian. Sure would explain a lot.
