I got a 12" custom subwoofer that i'm looking to build around. It's a custom one from a seller from this website (DIYmobieaudio.com - the DIYMA Reference 12"). meant for car audio, but i'm going to be using it as a home theater sub instead.

has anyone had experience w/ this plate amp that i want to pair it with?
here's the sub i am pairing it with. it weighs about 60 lbs literally, which was why i decided not to put it in my car.

UPDATE: I just placed an order for the oaudio amp. i will be going with an approx 1 cu ft sealed enclosure that i will be hopefully making sometime in the near future.

The Oaudio amp has a very good following on AVS and other DIY forums. It comes with some nice onboard features that others in it's price and power range don't provide.

As far as the sub, what type of enclosure are you going for and how big of a room are you going to drop it in? Take my advice and just go for a 15". The price difference is marginal. But the output differences are significant. If you are going sealed with it, then it's really no big change to your enclosure. A few more inches to account from the cutout, but otherwise it won't be significantly bigger. If going ported you'll have to adjust volume and vent, but not by a huge amount.

Ya that thing is pretty nice, it will not hold you back at all. Your 12 may but thats debateable depending on its quality.

I did a little research on building my own Sub and was looking at the same amp. I found out that this amp has a lot of boost at low frequencies, which makes it good for a sealed enclosure but not so much a ported. Partsexpress has a similar amp which can be modified to get rid of the boost and works better for ported subs.
