Oh, the day I bought the Ray Bans I dropped them on the tile floor in our hotel room and chipped one of the lenses. Cost me $40 to order a new set of glass for them when I returned home from Maui. So I guess they really cost me closer to $200.

Try Ray Ban, Smith, Spy Optical, Dragon or somebody will eventually suggest some cheap knock offs since nobody should pay more than $5.00 for sunglasses.

If there is Costco in your area, Oakleys are lot cheaper there as well as other sunglasses.

my local costco has the e-wires with gold lens. they're not polarized but cost only $129.

Each Costco has different inventory. Look around. I never got use to polarized, it feels weird. I'm sure they protect your eyes better. Have you tried them on? If you want wired rims polarized, its going to hurt your wallet with any big name brand manufacture.

Try the other brands then like Revo, Ray ban, etc

I have the Oakley half jackets and I would never wear anything else. Yes, they were 240 canadian but worth every penny in my books. I golf everyday in the summer and need protection for my eyes. The fact that it has no underwire makes them the perfect golfing sunglasses.

Basicly, the sunglasses are worth it if you love the way you can see through them. And you like the way they look. Value is relitive IMO.

I have the pair that you're looking at and I love them. They fit better than the previous glasses I've had, they're much clearer and they filter the light without diminishing the clarity. I can pull into the parking garage at work right out of the sun and still see without taking them off. They're pretty awesom, imo.

BTW - I have the silver with blue iridium/polarized.

I have the A Wire titanium with titanium iridium lenses.

i have the fake version of that too. it was buy one get one free at some sh!tty site a while ago. and i must agree the real ones fit better. i tried on a pair of the real square wires and they felt better than the fake ones i was wearing while driving to the mall.

Ever since I owned my first pair of Oakley heaters I've never worn anything since and that was 10 years ago.

Other sunglasses are crap as far as I'm concerned.

Right now I have a pair of A wire Titanium with +red iridium lenses and I'm completely happy with them.

Oakleys are more or less the joke of the sunglass industry, they use cheap lightweight plastic frames, and the quality of their lenses, glass or polycarbonate, are inferior to most brands. If you are looking for a good pair of sunglasses, I would highly recommend Maui Jims, or even Ray Ban Polarized. Revo's are pretty nice as well, however they are a bit overpriced.

Oakleys wire frames are better than their plastics, but the lenses just are no where near the calliber of Maui Jims. MJ's have a seven layer lense technology which is best used when fishing, boating, driving or skiing.

Have a look. Serengetis are also nice, because of their Photochromatic lenses.

yea i looked at the plastic framed oakleys and was amazed how much they resembled the plastic ones at walgreens or walmart but are around $100. but the wires feels better constructed and fitted pretty nicely around my head. i have no experiences with good lens as all my previous sunglasses were cheap walgreen ones or fake oakleys.

i got eye jackets and they are pretty neat.

i've always gone with fake oakleys but once i got the real thing, they were just so much nicer and more comfortable.

i don't wear them a great deal (i've been lazy about wearing my contacts lately), but when i do, i'm glad i have them and not some mediocre pair.

I saved up and bought my first pair of Oakleys at the age of 10. I had them until I was 19 when I left them on my passenger seat and my friend sat on them.
Got a new pair after that, and I've had them for over 2 years now.
I just really like the way they fit. Very comfortable to me.

Seems the United States Defence wasted A LOT of money on them then.
