This thread started my search for cheap Oakleys; Oakley Monster Dog Sunglasses $46.20 Shipped

i got my Oakleys last Thursday . . . for $79.96 Shipped . . . i believe it's the older Oakley Wire 2.0 Sunglasses/Square . . .they are extraordinary sunglasses . . . i didn't start a new topic 'till i read Sierra's catalog they sent with it . . . seems there is a 'stock'

AND

the catalog features Plutonite [#75688/75705/75710] and Haylon [75701] plus M-Frame [75691/75693/75696] in addition to Square Eye Jacket 2.0 [76800] for 37 to 38% off MSRP. Using the first time coupon plus google checkout might make them 'hot' -- or not. you decide

here is the link to what i got for $79.96:
Oakley Wire 2.0 Sunglasses @ Sierra Trading post

notice the price is $99.95 . . .
. . . a '20% off' banner might/should show up on the page i linked to

IF you are a first-time customer [like me] you AUTOmatically get 20% off your first order of $75 or more [use the link on their home page and sign up for their e-mail] THEN use Google checkout to get an additional $10 off to compensate exactly for the shipping. ;)

'pink' is my colour and it is really AWESOME to view the world thru rose coloured glasses. :p
:D

they are nowhere as 'pink' as most browsers make them appear to be . . . it is far more subtle. They really block the glare without cutting out the light or any detain . . . awesome for Winter Season driving.

They aren't polarized either... get some polarized lenses and that's great for driving :)

Warm deal, I think.

they don't need to be polarized :p

--and they are 37% to 1/2 off . . . very hard to find good deals on any Oakleys. ;)

# Oakley's 2.0 Square Wire sunglasses work all the angles with geometrically advanced technology. Lenses filter out all UV, UVA, UVB and UVC... even damaging blue light rays. 100% UV protection
# Plutonite lenses
# Lightweight C-5? metal alloy frame
# Refined bridgework
# Grippy ear socks hold on tight
# XYZ Optics® maintain correction on three axes

even very cheap sunglasses can have polarized lenses . . . big deal

these provide a superb level of eye protection while being extradordinarily lightweight
. . . mine are the G30 Titanium (Matco) lenses which are Protection Level 3 - perfect for driving but not too 'dark'

they don't look at all pink [like the pics] . . . a very pale 'rose' looking thru them and pinkish-brown from people looking at them

and there are 4 other completely diferent styles and choice of colours to look at using the numbers i posted in Sierra's 'search'. ;)

i did too .. .. also 'Wires' in hawaii ...

but then you have the Summer Tropical Sun

or if you spend a lot of time near/by the water

but then not so good for driving on a cloudy day

but absolutely UNnecesary for most of the USA's Winter - Level 3 is pretty useful as a compromise for most regular uses.

at least they are perfect for ME .. . . i am just sharing . . .

don't like 'em?

keep looking and move on

Actually I think these are the best Oakley glasses out there... I'm going to fork over the extra bucks for the polarized pair though. I have had Square Wire 2.0s before I lost them, for over 4 years. They are just rugged great glasses and I'm happy to buy another pair. Now.. to find $200 to buy them with! :)

i don't think so

it's their c-5 metal frame

for those who are not secure in their manhood . . .

they do NOT appear to be "pink" :p

looking at them being 'worn', the lenses appear to be "carob" colour [that pinkish brown]

some of you might like to know ;)

EDIT: You can use the "zoom" function at the Sierra Link . . . and look at the glasses in real 'close-up'.

Polarization is UNimportant for all but the most "glare" situations:

Polarized Sunglasses

I find that - while DRIVING -polarized lenses can cause distortions in LCDs . . . clocks and other instrument displays may be unreadable while wearing them. :p

OTOH, Oakley "polarized" lenses are among the very best - IF you need the EXTRA protection:

Oakley Polarized lenses

these particular ones are not polarized

Actually, they've got a couple of polarized Oakleys on sale as well. Here's the full Oakley list.

They are all older designs but it's hard to find a deal on Oakleys anywhere.

I have to mention that I agree with apoppin, and those of you who are obsessed with polarized lenses, should check out Oakley's Technology and understand that even non-polarized Oakleys are superior to any other sunglass lenses out there.

Polarizing can be done very cheaply (though Oakley's process is different) and doesn't offer much benefit unless you are actually on the water on a sunny day.

Me, I wear my non-polarized Oakley A Wires most of the time and only switch to my polarized Oakley Half Jackets when I'm on a boat or something.

i just got an e-mail from them - with Woofmeister's list - stating 'today is the Last DAY for 20% off Clearance items'

not sure how this works but even some POLARIZED Oakleys are on sale . . . at least 37% off

since i rarely surf anymore, i don't have any use for polarized lenses . . . but as the Woofmeister stated, even non-polarized Oakley lenses are superior to most other sunglass lenses.
