EBay has some of the best prices, but I can't ever tell if they are the older versions as if it is so then that warrants the lower price.

I have the Oakley A Wire Polarized Emerald / Chrome and that thing kicks all other sunglasses in terms of style IMHO (Mainly b/c of the color of the lense on top of the chrome frame). I mean everybody else has black or blue shades.
I need to get me some red lensed wires, but these kinds of colors are very rare at almost all online stores. :(
Girls always wear those stupid bugeye sunglasses, but I guess that is the style these days for girls.

You can tell the version from the model #, i searched for the model# 05-683 Polarized Square Wire 2.0 Polar, the dark/ice iridium one, and it said it retired on 2001? Does it still make the sunglasses a good deal?

I do take exception though to their claim ?unsurpassed impact protection.? Unless the glasses are marked ANSI Z87 (which they may be) this claim is useless. In fact if it is truly unsurpassed it will be marked ANSI Z87+, for a high impact ratingn. (ANSI = American National Standards Institute).

I guess you didn't read their data.

High Mass Impact Test
Oakley premium eyewear surpasses the protection requirements for high-mass impact, as defined by The American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Part of an industrial standard called ANSI Z87.1, the high-mass impact test requires that the lens be hit by a 500-gram metal spike (over a pound of weight) dropped from a height of 51.2 inches (over four feet). To pass the test, no frame parts or lens fragments that could damage the eye may be ejected during impact.
...
High Velocity Test
Oakley premium eyewear also surpasses the ANSI Z87.1 test for high-velocity impact protection. For this test, a pneumatic cannon accelerates a quarter-inch steel shot to 102 miles per hour. The lens is targeted straight on from three different heights, and at seven different angles. To pass the high-velocity test, no contact between the lens and eye is permitted during impact. In addition, no frame parts or lens fragments that could damage the eye may be ejected during impact.
Oakley Test Page

They even have a video and pictures.

Okie, exception excepted... and btw I think that the molecular bonding actually uses biocellulose. At least I know that I can wear 'em at the paper mill.

I feel safe in knowing that my hybrid M frame oakley's can take the punishment of TWO FRIGGIN SPIKES coming at my eyes at 32ft/s^2 (acceleration of gravity). (a machine dreamt up by the Three Stooges?) Check out the videos.

Hey! That machine attacked me in a dark parking garage just last night! It was stalking me all week and decided to make its move.

Square wire 2.0's are the smallest oakley's in size. Big square wires are a little wider then the 2.0' but are still smaller then minutes

Personally i would rather buy the 2.0's, cause they do look really nice, big square wires arent that good looking
