The school gets money based on attendance, not results. Suspending a student that disrupts class costs the school money.

Er unless they do things drastically different in CA that's not the case. There are so called 'count days' that funding is based on and those usually occur at the start of the year so unless it's a count day it doesn't cost them funding money

This of course ignores the right of the rest of the kids in the class to get an education, which leads to every parent who can pulling their kids out of the system.

Average daily attendance, count days way too easy to cheat.

I still remember my first week in grade 2,some kid did something, got sent to the office for the strap....afterwards the principal came into the class with the balling kid and told him to explain to the class what it was like to get the strap.....oddly enough there where no more outbursts for the rest of the year.

He sounds like he was a pussy, I got paddled by my kindergarten teacher probably 10 different times and it didn't effect me at all. Punishment only works on weak minded people. My teacher would paddle right in front of the entire class.

Punishment fails on slow learners.

So teachers aren't supported by administration, parents or the public at large. At least they still have their six figure salaries/big houses/BMW's etc right?

Oh wait, this a liberal fail so you can't make fun of it or they'll kick you out of Liberal Club.

Great way to boost graduation rates. As long as the little angels show up guaranteed pass.

Also keeps the power tripping teachers from expelling for no real reason other than they don't like the kid.
