go to Trader Vic's. it's in emeryville though... expensive too.

or you could always go to Jack London Square... Jack's Bistro, Old Spaghetti Factory, Tony Roma's.

I was at Yoshi's there a few months ago, not for dinner but for a jazz concert. Got dessert and that was great. It looked like a nice spot.

What is your budget?

I bet it is long sold out, but Chez Panise is probably the best that I know of (in Berkely).

Thanks for the suggestion. Price doesn't really matter. I was ready to go to Chez Panisse in Berkeley (~$120/person) but waited too long to make reservations. :)

Bubb Rubb's

I think someone really wants to move to the bay area to escape boredom :)

And live next to Bubb Rubb? I'll pass.

I don't come to ATOT daily, but I often see you in bay area threads (many times to post some flamebait or something facetious)

Pretty interesting that you are so fascinated with our area. Sorry, we don't share the same interest in your hometown

Yep, 1 month in advance reservations are needed. Even for the cafe

I am fascinated? LOL... ok. I guess this is one of those you must be in awe of me because I live in California people. If you would check out the link and search for Bubb Rubb you would see how big of a deal he is nationwide. It has nothing to do with the "Bay Area" or "California". It is the stupidity of his sister.

No thanks... I'm too busy to fascinate myself with internet searches on stupid people. Knock yourself out though :)

Well thanks for coming into my thread. Have fun dining in Alabama. I'm sure I'll see you around in the next bay area thread

Go Bears!

Calbear2000, does it have to be Oakland? What about Skates? A nice view and place to be afterwards.

If Oakland, then JAck London Square does have Everett & Jones, but I don't know if that qualifies as "nice." But, if you guys love ribs you cannot go wrong with it. For anyone ever up in this area, E&J's has some of the best ribs around.
There are a lot of places in Jack London Square though, you might be able to go to that seafood restaurant there, I forgot the name.

Or, you can make it extra special and take her to the Ghetto "Third World" Food Court". ;)

I'd like it in or close to Oak since I'll be at the Oakland Arena that evening.

Yes I've been to Skates. Beautiful view of the Berkeley Marina. Seeing the sun go down and disappear into the ocean from a window table at that place is unbelievable.

I'll check out E&J sometime... thanks for the tip

Yep, been to Scott's. Great place, I agree. I was surprised to see one in Folsom as well (near Sacramento)

Yep. I was the one who offered a handshake to you after I childishly got invloved into a flamewar with you.

Glad to see you're still poking your head into bay area threads to try to start another one.

This Scotts place you guys are talking about, is it good for V-Day? I've never been there and I don't particularly like the look of their menu, but the ambiance might make it worth it I guess...

And you absolutely must try E&J. Try not to go on game nights cuz the alumni tend to congregate there...

I think Scott's is a great place for V-day. Nice romantic setting.

E&J. I'll definitely try it sometime. :)
