Well cam came yesterday. Wasn't sure what to expect from their "Factory Demo". Turns out it is a Nikon Recertified. So came with Nikon's 90-day warranty, and Cameta covers it with their own warranty for 1-year.

Thing looks brand new with not a scratch on it. All I can say is, FLIPPIN' SWEET!!!! :shocked::thumbsup:
 
I still really need to spend some time to figure out what the F I'm doing. Most noticable to me, is softening/adjusting the flash. Thing is soooo much brighter than my rinky-dink P&S Canon A530. But the detail and sharpness in the pics is just night and day difference from my P&S.

On the 2 sleeping shots, it was basically lights out in their rooms when I took the pics. The AF assist light itself was pretty bright. The pics of the cam were taken with my Canon.

My 4gb card should be here soon, which means the end of shooting jpegs as well 🙂 For now the pics were taken on Full Auto, using the "Fine" jpeg setting.
 
kind of creepy taking pictures of your kids sleeping. heh have fun with the new camera and get off full auto mode 😛
 
Congrats!!! Up the ISO to 800, get yourself a bounce-capable flash (which does not have to cost a bundle), and get off the auto mode ASAP.
