There are not enough bug-eyed shocked emoticons in the WORLD to describe what I am feeling.

Fellow Dreamcast owners ... do yourself a GREAT favour and go buy a VGA box. The difference is OUTSTANDING. Soul Caliber looks like it just dropped out of the arcade. :Q

This has been a public service announcement brought to you by the Dreamcast Zealotry Association.

Soul Calibur looked like SH!T in the arcade! But I have been meaning to buy one of these. I just hooked up my Dreamcast again to play some DOA2 and SC, two of the best fighting games ever created.

If it makes Shenmue and Shenmue II look better than it already is, I might just get one.

the dc was meant to be played with a vga box. Everyone go out and do yourself a favor and pick one up. You see details in games that you could never have imagined. Shenmue 1 and 2 both looks remarkably clearer in image than on a conventional tv.

It allows you to plug your Dreamcast into your VGA monitor via a passthrough cable, and enables 640x480 mode in your games. And yes, it also becomes "progressive scan" - at least my monitor is telling me it's not getting an interlaced signal.

So in essence, the Dreamcast is doing 480p. :Q

Spikey217 - Hell yes. Go buy one. :D

eBay is always a good spot, but I got mine from EB - I was getting a DC for my little brother on the "trade two games in" deal, and to my surprise got a VGA box with it. He gets the regular cables for the TV, I get the VGA box. :D

Playing Zero Gunner 2 right now ... I never knew those little green powerups had the letter "E" in them before
My head's going to melt from all this graphical goodness.

I used to have one. Sure its nice to play on the screen, but I still prefer to play on the 27inch flatscreen with svideo.

Why can't my PS2 and XBox do this? :( I do have a DC though, I'll have to try this.

Does it only work with VGA monitors, or is there a DV connection for use with an HD monitor?

VGA and Dreamcast go hand in hand.

I hooked it up to my friends HDTV and blew his mind away. He never understood why I supported a "dead" system so much. Then I showed him how much better DOA 2 on Dreamcast looked than DOA 2 on PS2 and how much better Guilty Gear X on Dreamcast looked than Guilty Gear X2 on PS2. Now he can't understand why Dreamcast died. This is the same thing I've been saying for years however. :(

Ummmm, Shenmue 2 wasn't even released for the Dreamcast here in America. They opted instead to release it on XBOX. WTF are you talking about? Did you import it?

Shenmue II was released in America, although IIRC, it was the european version. My memory is a little fuzzy, but back when I worked for Gamestop/Babbage's, we did sell Shenmue II, and it came in a spiffy blue cardboard sleeve. I wish I had bought it :(
