Probably just try some of my basic dishes, like Chilli, Chicken Cacciatore. Should try pulled pork, perhaps a beef roast.
why not start off with a nice hearty beef stew?

easy to make and very healthy. I use Club House Beef Stew for slow cookers seasoning.

Mmmm. Tasty.

Here are two recipes for pasta lovers -

Chicken & Noodles
4-5 carrots
4-5 chicken thighs
2 cups water
2 Knorr's chicken bullion cubes
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 onion
salt & pepper to taste

Place all ingredients in crock pot. Remove chicken after about two-three hrs or until thighs begin to fall apart, and clean off skin & bones. Return chicken to pot and continue cooking approx 6 hrs. Remove onion. Serve over hot buttered egg noodles. We prefer thigh meat, very tasty (you can use skinless boneless to make it easier, but that stuff adds flavor). ;)

Tasty Beef & Noodles
1 1/2 lbs stew beef (I use chuck roast and cut it into pieces, it's cheaper)
1 can French onion soup
1 can diced tomatoes (15 oz)
1 can golden mushroom soup - undiluted (optional)
1/2 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
4-6 oz sliced fresh mushrooms (optional)
Dash of pepper

Combine all ingredients and cook on low for 8 hrs. Serve over hot buttered egg noodles.

I usually cook the egg noodles al dente and mix them into the crock pot after it cools down. They will absorb the flavor.

Crock Pot is officially awesome. Our old crock had the lid handle crack and fall off years ago. I rigged it with an old pot lid handle, but its wobbly and doesnt fit right. Wife contacted them last night to see if they had any replacement lids. Since they dont make the model anymore, and dont have any parts, they let her pick out a new one and are shipping it to us for FREE! :D
New one is nice, has a timer and everything. Wooooooooo!

i'm going to try this next (found it online searching for "pernil crock pot"):

Slow Cooked Puerto Rican Pork (Pernil)

■4 lb Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt
■6 Cloves of Garlic, pressed
■1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
■1 tsp Oregano
■1 1/2 Tbs Olive Oil
■1 1/2 Tbs White Vinegar
■4 tsp Salt
Combine garlic, pepper, oregano, olive oil, vinegar and salt. Rub pork with garlic mixture and refrigerate overnight.

When ready drop into the crockpot on low for 8 hrs.

Are baked beans still baked beans if they're not baked?
yes, because the process is still the same. Slow cooking makes baked beans what they are.

besides, I have a very good recipe for baked beans.
