ok, for those of you o/c'n the fsb to get that little bit more, i'd like to know where you keep your ram? do you have it at host+pci = 133 and then adjust the fsb or do you leave it at host and adjust. I know the difference would be if you have pc100 or pc133, but i have pc133 and want to know if other pc133 users have had success getting to 138-145 range. LMK

Duron specifically. I've heard that some durons can do 110, which i consider good for the chip seeing how must can't do +5 or more. Regardless, to make the question simpler, if you have a duron that can do 110 fsb, does the theory hold true that you can run your ram at host+10+pciclk = 143 (again assuming that your ram is known to work that high). It should right?

8ns ram only good for pc-133 3-3-3 (barely any higher mhz)
pc-133 that is 2-2-2 (cas2) will probably run in the 145 range with cas3

Cas2 pc-133 is VERY expensive stuff.

Cas3 pc-133 is very CHEAP stuff.

hmm, ok i know i have pc133, i think it's generic, i'll check it out. If it doesn't have a label on the dimm saying it's ns speed or cas rating can i just check it by the chipmarkings? Assuming i have the cheap pc133, generic with cas3, and again assuming i can hit 110 fsb with my duron, will i see more performance gains from my system if i run the run at 110 fsb (which would also increase clk speed) or just just the ram at host+pci to get my 133? thanks in advance

I find the best performance in a combination multiplier/FSB overclock. I have the multiplier set at 900, and the FSB at 105/35 + 4 = 109. WCPUID reports the T-Bird running at 982MHz. My memory is running at 144MHz CAS2 Turbo. My most recent Sandra memory score was 511/612 with some background programs running. It is higher without any background stuff running.

EDIT: Memory running at Host Clock + PCI = 135 + 9 =144MHz

well here's my story on the ram front..

Got Mushkin Infineon pc133 ram. about $140
have my abit kt7 raid board set up as follows

100/33 FSB setting
13 FSB plus setting(now at 113 total)

running at 904(113x8)

FSB set to HCLK+PCICLK so 113*33 = 146.

all at cas2 turbo, with 4 way interleaving on.

ALU/FPU at 530/638 now..

I would love to have it at 1GIG, but whats the point when its faster then a gig at this speed.

man, now i'm jealous... i probably have the crappest memory, and it probably won't do more than tha 135 fsb... i always wondered y some ram was 200 dollars and others were 90 :) Who knows, i may have the good stuff, we'll see

EDIT: I just cracked my case and took out my RAM to see... it's Siemens PC133 3-3-3 :( oh well. I'll just have to see how it goes i guess. I should be able hit cas 2 at 100 right?
