o/c'ed too far?

Just o/c'ed my 2.4V AHX core k6-III 400 to 448 (112*4) but don't know if i've gone too far!

In order to achieve this Ive had to disable the 2mb m/b onboard cache - since the k6-III has full speed 256k internal cache this isn't much loss - or is it?

I've also had to disable DMA mode on my cdrom and cdrw in order to get them working at the higher fsb. The hard drive is still in UDMA33 mode however.

The voltage is at 2.8V! ; temp of cpu about 50-52 C under heavy load.

The processor and ram bandwidth benchmarks have increased by 10-15%. All stability tests passed.

Those are the facts, but please can some of you overclocking legends on this board tell me is it worth it? Am I losing too much and gaining too little? Is my cpu gonna fry by next week?

Many of you have probably been in this situation before and I would really appreciate some advice on the subject.

Thanks for your time, Deano.

Take your bus back down put l3 cache back on and take the multiplier to 4.5 it will be faster than with no l3 cache.

Sounds like your paying a high price for the extra mhz. The K6/III is a nortoriously tough nut as far as OCing but its cache already puts it above par of the =speed K6/II. I would agree to backing down till you can regain your L3 cache as being good advice.
