I'm having trouble getting a good overclock on my CPU. My current specs are:
MSI Neo2 Platinum
OCZ 3200 Platinum Revision 2
AMD 3500+ Winchester
XP-90 with 92mm Panaflo
Antec 430W TruePower PSU

I'm unable to get my FSB above 233 with the following settings:
Stock voltages
FSB 233
HT 4X
Multiplier 11X
AGP 67
Timings: 1T 2.5-3-3-8
Memory divider 166

To my knowlege, it is possible to get the FSB up higher at around 240 on this system setup. However, whenever I raise my memory voltage to 2.8, my system tends to crash with the BSOD. I'm thinking if this could be my PSU?

My next setup was the following:
Stock voltages
FSB 280
HT 3X
Multiplier 9X
AGP 67
Timings 1T 2.5-4-4-10
Memory divider 166

Again, I'm questioning why I can't go at a higher FSB. This is almost the exact same setup with the Anandtech review of overclocking on the new 90nm cores. However, they were able to get a FSB of 290.

My last setup is the following:
Stock voltages
FSB 255
HT 4X
Multiplier 10x
AGP Lock 67
Timings: 1T 2.5-3-3-8
Memory divider 200

I also feel I should be able to go higher on these settings.

General questions:
Should I raise my voltages up and what would be a safe amount? Is my PSU limiting me, since whenever I raise the voltages my system crashes? Are timings really that important, would stock CPU settings and 2-2-2-5 timings be better then any of these O/C's? Finally, which setup would net the overall "Best" performance, to my knowlege the higher the FSB, the better performance? If that statement was true, why doesn't everyone just drop the multipliers down to 9 and get the highest FSB possible. One final note is that prime95 DOES NOT run stable on any of these configurations. I've tried everything to fix this but prime95 just does not want to run. Is there a different system stability benchmark I could try?

I know this was a long post, but I'm having some real troubles getting a good performance boost out of this system. I would greatly appreciate any help given to me! Thanks for any responses in advance!

You may just have a poor overclocking cpu. It took me 5 tries to get a good northwood. I wouldn't waste any more money on a new power supply. I just got one yesterday at Fry's ($15 after rebate for an antec 350w smartpower), and noticed no difference on the max overclock. You can get by with 400 watts with a good brand like antec or sparkle. I got by with 300 with my old sparkle, and moved it to my spare barton system.
