OK experience guy, I need help
I got a 2600+ barton core , 3 stick of pny 256m ddr2700 , a coolermaster copper pipe heatsink and i will order a abit nforce board from new egg. With all my part , wath is the best option for me to o/c the baby combo? Do i need cut or solder any think on the chip . Or I just go straight into bios and increase the multipler and voltage. Can I increase more then 166 fsb with ddr2700 ram? Please give me enought detail to o/c
thank

you can just go ahead and play with the FSB/multiplier/voltage... as for your ram... i don't know. ive seen crucial PC2700s go to 175 with tight timings... and up to 190-192 with relaxes timings. Some have been lucky and can go all the way to 200. Some mushkins can even go 200 with tight timings as well. 🙂

with the pc2700 you will probably be limited to a multiplier overclock...in case you were wondering, the Barton and Nforce go well together and don't make you mod the chip at all to overclock it so just put it in and go to the bios...
