ok i just got my 8500DV and i am also COMPLETELY new to ATI. i downloaded the latest version of powerstip in hopes to see how much i could o/c my card, but the damn program won't let me. it tells me that my memory is running @ a whopping 7.4Mhz and it says "n/a" in the engine clock space and will not allow me to change either of the sliders. i'm running the latest official ATI drivers (6015). any suggestions?

I understand it's not a hardcore gaming video card but i'm sure it can be done. I just wanna know why i can't. Is there anyone here that has and has done it?

Hey see, it is overclocked, by more than double;). I don't know, I use the Rage3D tweaker and its worked for my Radeon cards.

well thanx rbV5. i have successfully gone from 7.4Mhz and "n/a" with powerstrip to a mind boggling 666Mhz/666Mhz (I always thought ATI was evil) with rage3d tweaker:Q
think i'm just gonna give up,
i don't need it that bad just curious to see what it could do

I believe powerstrip should work fine with the DV, since it works with the 8500. If not try the rage or other radeon tweakers. Uninstall it, then put it back in maybe.
