Well general hd gets better hits than oc forum so .. and i think my topic died.

1I had my stuff all up to like 2300+ speeds and i booted up and it says INVAILD PARITION wth so i used xp restore adn fixed. So im back in windows and i rebooted same problem so now im underclocked to like 1800+ speeds and back in windows at 11x mutil i was on 12.5 why is this damn it. Should i up it back to 2300+ speeds and format windows so that it installs w/ the overclock speeds and the table dont get courpt or error'd?

I would install an OS with out overclocking wouldn't wanna risk having something important corrupt. I don't imagine it is any faster OCed since an install has most to do with the HDD rather than the processor.

NO no you got it wrong ;-0. I mean should i install it w/ the overclock so that its use to the high speeds. Not install w. oc and than take off nono.

When you overclock you are running everything out of spec. How far out of spec you can go depends on the device. Some devices handle it better than others.

Expect weird things to happen when OCed too far.

If you are getting ANY error messages at all when overclocking then your system is not stable. Back off on it a little.

Do you get invalid partion message when at stock speeds? Try opening the command prompt and do a chkdsk/f. Will ask to do it on restart select yes and restart. The scan
will take awhile took me a couple of hours.

Do you have pci/agp lock? Otherwise your drive is probably acting freaky because the pci bus is way out of spec.

Then maybe you just got a CPU that isn't overclocking very well. Within a batch of CPU's are always ones that overclock well, average, and ones that hardly overclock. Every now and then, a few of the ones that hardly overclock get by. My guess is maybe this is the case? Where'd you buy it from? Maybe they'll exchange it for a new one, you can make up some reason. (Not suggested) ;)
