o/c barton question

hey guys i am recently new to overclocking, and i just installed a 2500 barton on my new biostar nforce2 board. ok so i what first did is i increased the fbs to 200 mhz and changed the multiplier to 11 thats all i did now it says im running an xp3200. then i am curently running prime 95 and it has been running for a bout 5 hours now it sasys stage one is
51% done my current temp is holding at 49/50 C.. so my question is how do i know when my system has become unstable and should i mess with vcore voltage? or leave as is... also how do i know if my 2500 is unlocked .. forgot to check the numbers on the cpu to know what week it was. ok now im getting messages on my health monitor saying that i have exeeded my -12 voltage limits .. how did that happen and how do i fix ?

Get into Bios and check the CPU Voltage setting to make sure its around 1.65 or 1.75 something like that is default anyways default valtage should be enough and i wouldn?t worry allot about that health thing its probably miss reading due to overclocking.

as for Stability testing run 3Dmark a few times and then just use your computer as you would normally .. games web surfing so on .. if it runs without any hick ups then everything is good.

Clap Clap you saved a few hundred dollars overclocking too 3200+ rather then buying a 3200+ CPU

Not everyone would see eye to eye with you on this one. More stressing is usually a good thing. I usually run prime for at least 12 hours, then rip and encode a dvd overnight to make sure. Also might want to look at memtest86 to stress and test your ram.

As for your 12v problem, what PSU you have there?

Why ask us? You're doing fine

No need to worry about vcore if you don't plan on even more speed.
That Barton is extremely happy to overclock. Personally, I think it's an xp3200 in a cheap disguise.

Your temps sound good - a bit lower than mine at 43'C when running Prime95.

Keep Prime95 running for 24 hours - if the system pass that test, you should be safe as conserns CPU and RAM.
And feel free to continue running Prime95...


Does the system crash, hang or feel wrong? If not, don't worry.


You might want to tune that health monitor a little - sounds like it is set to alert you a bit to early.
