NZXT PSUs, not familiar with them

I was given an NZXT Precise 650w for doing a video card install (took about 10 min). I wasn't going to charge anything, but the guy offered it and I was intrigued. He said it's 2 years old, but has barely been used. I was thinking about putting it in my HTPC since the sucker is almost completely silent.

I know it's massive overkill for an e5300 w/ a 4770, but would it be better quality than the 500W OCZ StealthXStream I'm using now? Also, what's the deal with the "Combined" light on the back of this thing? Does it automatically join the 12v rails when stressed? There seems to be very little info about this thing online.

most NZXT PSUs are made by Topower...since you said it had the rail fusion switch, that pretty much confirms it is Topower. From reviews I have read, the switch does nothing and the unit is a single rail unit whether the fusion is switched turned on or off. Ostensibly it would merely turn off the OCP limit on the 12V rail divides.

Not the greatest, but it should be decent. Not sure I would bother switching out your current PSU though.

Should be fine for an HTPC. Topower isn't top of the line but its no powmax either so you should be good
