Like the title says, this NZXT HALE82 650W unit is $42 AR AP, great price on a strong 80+ Bronze, modular, Seasonic made PSU if you ask me. Promo ends 9/3.

Not to threadcrap, but I think everyone should be made aware that I've heard nothing but bad things about NZXT rebates. As in people never getting them and not being able to contact NZXT about it, a la Sunbeam.

That said, these are Seasonic PSUs so they should be great; just don't count on getting your rebate.

If neither of you have had any problems, then I guess they're legit. Like I said, this is a solid modular PSU and an outstanding deal if you get the rebate.

If that's the case, people might want to check out the HALE90-1000-M for $106 AR. It's made by Super Flower, which is another good PSU manufacturer. 80Plus gold with 83 +12v amps. Looks like another great deal to me.

What's bothered me about the NZXT power supplies is, while being made by Seasonic on a platform used by many sellers/"branders", the NZXT continually falls short of the results given by other "brands" using the same platform.

The HALE82 units do pretty well in cold testing but, as JG's site put it, they fall apart in hot testing. Ripple suppression gets very loose and voltage regulation gets pretty "average", also. JG's site has yet to give their recommendation for any HALE82 power supply so far, all two they've tested---the 850W and 750W.

Guess NZXT is having Seasonic make some changes that are not doing quite so well as the choices that Corsair, et al, make in their brands of this Seasonic platform.

Good review: http://www.pureoverclock.com/Review-detail/nzxt-hale90-1000-m/6/

$106AR for a good, modular, aesthetically pleasing PSU is hot IMO.

Yeah that 1000W is a great deal too, can't think of any rigs outside of Tri-SLI/CF that could possibly need it though :p

And on the topic of JG's test, what temperature warrants as a "hot test" for them? I believe AT's testing methodology for the PSU reviews get's them fairly warm for the full testing, and the HALE82 650W and 750W both did well in the AT review seen here.
