NZXT H630 power LED & fan hub Q's

My power LED illuminated for the first day of use but after that it quit working. Can I try the HDD header to rule out if it's a case or motherboard issue?

Also, I would like to have the system fans controlled by the SYSFAN header on the mobo, will purchasing a 3-pin fan connector to molex work in this case?
