NYU student sleeps for months at school library.

NYU was expensive, and while I did spend many a night at Bobst studying and occasionally falling asleep, I didn't do it for eight months!

Nm found it... Occasional shower doesn't sound too good but then again neither does sleeping in the library.

BTW, Bobst Library is a friggin' huge library. You probably could hide a body for months on any given floor w/o being detected. There were two suicides at this libary as well in the past year, from students jumping from a higher floor to the lobby.

It was a $1000 housing deposit. Room&board in NYC isn't cheap. I think it's at least $4000 semester, including mandatory meal plans.

But yeah, def. was a publicity stunt as well, hence his own website.

The deposit is $1,000 not the actual residence fee. I think my friend pays $6,000 per semester @ NYU. Not sure, I'll ask.

My g'friend (now wife) was homeless while pursuing a grad school degree at an Ivy. She was foreigner and couldn't obtain US educational loans. She used her meager savings to squeak through her grad years.

She stayed w/ me rent free between 10PM/7AM when my landlord lady was asleep. Despite how conniving I was, eventually I had to move out as the old landlord lady caught on to what was going on and was NOT happy! This was around finals. Not good!

You might be able to pull something like this off at Memorial Library here. It's the largest library in the state, with roughly 3 million books. The stacks can be pretty empty, and I've heard of people falling asleep and waking up when the library was closed. You can also check out cages to keep your stuff locked up in, and I'd imagine that you could live in one if need be (not legal of course).

Hopefully it works out for him, they got him a "free" dorm room I'm sure because of the publicity. Just goes to show you opportunity is fading fast in America. Things like College only for the richest.

I know a guy who used to sleep in the library for the week, take showers/toilet/etc. at the intramural activies building, then would commute home on the weekends.
