So Oldgamer you make a declarative statement.

NYPD takes insulin away from teen to force a confession from him

As I look at the link I see that there is a suit which alleges this is the case. I see people deride the religious, but you repeatedly set yourself up as a deity, all knowing and pronouncing damnation as if you had that right and it's getting annoying.

It may well be just as the suit alleges and in that case I hope those guilty pay a heavy price. I myself have been beaten as a young teen just for being in the wrong place so I know it happens. What did I get as compensation? A threat of being subject to charges of "resisting arrest". In those days that's just what would have happened. So unless you have been in my shoes you don't know anything, and if you were you still should understand that even then not everything said against the police is automatically true. Just how did this divine power to judge who is guilty and innocent (and apparently it's always the police from your posts) come about? Abuse is serious. Too many get away with it. Choosing to make everyone guilty by accusation? No, I wouldn't do that to get even. Prejudging and pronouncing guilt. You have a lot in common with those you cry against.

If it's as advertise they should lose their liberty. Once again, who has this special gift to know guilt from innocence?

Just part of the slippery slope started with Waterboarding and the apologetics for it. Seems time to reassert the fact that Torture does not work and back that up with severe legal consequences for those engaging in it.

Even if this kid was guilty of killing multiple people, this kind of coercion undermines Justice. It does so by casting doubt on the value of a Confession.

No... the cops aren't going to arrest one of their own for doing his job albeit very badly. I always thought there were rules for what confessions can be admitted in court or not. It'll be thrown out. Internet narrative rageeeee. Oh man. Oh well.

One of the worse things for a person is if they have a chronic medical condition and you get arrested/and or charged with a crime. You can expect how you are currently being treated medically to be thrown out the window. The NY Prisoner Medical system is so bad that they cannot figure out how to treat a diabetic without taking him to a hospital which just runs up the bill for the taxpayers? No accountability with anyone in the criminal justice system.

If true the police officers should be charged with attempted murder.

Pretty much, but this kid wasn't convicted of anything, and they were trying to use his medical condition in a very dangerous way against him. They might as well have put a gun to his head and force him to confess that way. Without the insulin he is as good as dead.
