Nyko Perfect Shot (Wii) kinda overrated

Got a couple of these highly praised Nyko Perfect Shot gun attachments for the Wii. They are disappointing. Most importantly, your hand get fatigued quickly when shooting lots of zombies or anything. Second, it's really hard to fit the controller in the gun without taking off the wrist attachment string. Third, one of the guns makes an annoying squeaking sound every time the trigger is pulled (wonder if I can return it...). Fourth, it's hard to calibrate guns on the wii, since the sensor bar is always off by a good margin (I suspect this is different for everyone depending on their TV setup and how far they stand away from the TV. Also, this isn't really an issue with the Nyko, more of an issue with the Wii itself.

But, all that said, I still like it better than just holding the Wiimote and shooting, and the guns are only 15 bucks if you can find them. Still, with all the praise out there for them I was hoping for better.

Nah I mean kind of overrated

I didn't know there was lots of hype for the gun, but it's been out a long time now, so there's been plenty of time for people to review it. The reviews are 9 out of 10 very positive.

Yeah, I thought so too. I got a couple of them to play with Resident Evil, and found them fairly awkward, had the remote pop out a couple of times, etc.. Frankly, it was easier to play the game just holding the Wiimote.

They're amazing for House of the Dead. Probably good for Ghost Squad as well. But those games offer in-game calibration.

Games that do not offer in-game calibration will not control well with the Perfect Shot.



I love mine. I just want more lightgun games on the system. Using it for anything else just seems silly.

I thought about getting one of these but haven't seen them in stores yet. I don't have any interest in the WiiZapper except for checking out the Zelda game.

Overrated? How? In comparison to the Wii Zapper or the Icon made gun shell, the Nyko Perfect Shot is the best made and most comfortable. Is the attachment necessary? Sure, it's not. But you get into the game more with it, than without.

Because 90% of people rate it 4 or 5 out of 5 stars when it's a 3 at best, thus, overrated - In my opinion of course.

Again though I still like it ok...I think it'll be good for Umbrella Chronicles and I already got house of the dead 2&3 (wonder if they'll release 3 and 4 also?). Not sure what ghost squad is exactly, gotta look it up.

It completely deserves it's 5/5... if you're using it for lightgun games and rail shooters.

If you try to play Red Steel or Metroid Prime 3 with it, yeah, it's gonna suck.
