If you like Argentinian steak places, try Pampa on Amsterdam between 96th & 97th. Pretty good stuff and fairly inexpensive. Not really a romantic atmosphere type of place though.

EDIT: It's not a "Churrascaria Plataforma" type place where they bring the meat around and cut slices into your plate. This is more of the traditional order your meal type place. Try the empanada appetizers, if you go. They're yummy.

My wife wanted to go to One if By Land Two if by Sea, but we never got around to it. If you can get reservations then try Per Se is in the AOL Time Warner Center next to V Steakhouse which is also excellent.

Eh, One If... didn't really appeal to me. Real nice looking place, but the food was 'eh'.

thats what everyone says, real romantic, but the food sucks heheh

It is a "romantic" spot where couples often get engaged. While some people would flock to a place like this for their anniversary, the wife and I are not so sentimental and would rather eat well, drink liberally and enjoy a fun night out on the town....

Spice Market, Craft, Gustavino's, Tabla, Babbo? It would be tight trying for a reservation for this weekend at any relatively trendy spot.

Spice Market?

the food there is definetely not worth the price you pay.

plus its really pretentious...

It is quite a scene though. Personally, I have not yet tried it but I would like to eat there at some point. It did get voted best new restaurant, I think. I updated my post with some more suggestions.
