Leaving for New York tommorrow and I'm just looking for last minute suggestions on where to got, most specifically, New Years Eve, I know Times Square sucks so I won't be going there, but where is a good place to go? Someone mentioned they thought the Empire State Building was open till after midnight on NYE, is this true? If so, still a nightmare?

Any other suggestions are welcome, including pub or something like that.

Yeah somehow the idea of being locked in for four hours doesnt really appeal to me all that much....

edit: Yes I will definitely go there, just not for NYE. 🙂
