NYC traffic is bad?

It doesn't seem so bad, looking at this. Some of those avenus look pretty dead empty, in fact!

Heck traffic is a lot worse here on certain highways at rush hour..

Okay, I compared with my own city and it looks pretty much the same, but my city is 1/6 the size of greater NYC.

You should take a look at the traffic around 5:30 EST. It's a whole different ball game. Or, if you want to see something really ugly, take a look at some of the bridges headed to New Jersey and Westchester county :|

I was under the impression that NYC was gridlocked throughout the day.. doesn't look like it from those pics, though. It's certainly nothing compared to Tokyo or Mexico city, which I thought NYC was like too.

i don't get why it's so bad there when the majority of people use public transportation. in LA, barely anybody uses public transportation!

There is no such thing as good traffic.

public transportation is packed as well during rush hour..
it's not just the roads
there so many people crowded here per square ft it's not even funny..

I dont live in the city .. but my town is basically almost directly across it..

The GWB lies in my town and the traffic is horrendous during peak hours and sometimes off peak hours..

my town is about 2 square miles from what I remember that's not that big.. It will literally take an hour to get to the other side on bad traffic days
