So, are there any other NYC residents loving this whitewashed city?

I work in construction, so its nice having a slow day for once.

It's being blown out of proportion. I live in the ghetto and the streets are mostly clean and the shoveled part of the sidewalks are no longer accumulating snow.

I hate the sensationalism from the news outlets. Those jackasses even delayed Maury on TV today, but they they are showing an episode now. Not a cool "who my daddy" episode though. 🙁

Im in central NJ (around the 78 corridor) and I can swear we had nothing like the meteorologist suggest. I think we had 4 inches tops, maybe mugs can come on and prove me wrong. But hey, even better, work and school closed and I got a extra 4 hrs of sleep. Woooo.

I think this is one of those rare storms where NYC is getting hit harder than lots of the burbs.

Today I had to step through a 10 inch snow drift to get on and off the bus, and it's still coming down, definitely still sticking.

looking like a snow globe here at work and it's been like that since about 4PM yesterday. good thing's that not many ppl's on the subway so i got to seat all the way to work.

my friends in northern nj are reporting 2 feet.

I heard up north got hit hard. They got the heavier bands that spawned out of the low pressure system. It ws like a hurricane type of storm where the closer to the low you got the bigger bands you had.

Plenty of snow here in the bronx. It doesn't bother me since I use the subway to get to work. Sucks for drivers and it may suck for those who are expected big packages from UPS/Fed Ex..etc. Always a chance the drivers won't get through the snow to deliver stuff.

edit: Its actually bright outside now and some of the snow is melting.

Upstate NY in the hills we have about 2 feet for this storm, still coming down pretty good now. Not really a huge amount of accumulation for us, but this wet snow is slowly killing my snowblower.

Well over 1 foot here in Wayne, NJ .. did not bother to actually measure it. We are in the initial cleanup right now. My office was smart and we worked from home yesterday and today.

This is so weird because Somerset NJ got less than 6 inches. It's almost like im in a time warp here and how everybody else around us got hit hard.

Went out to the barn last night. Babies! Went back into the house. Grabbed 2 pieces of pizza for dinner. Went back to the barn: no sign of any tracks in the yard - completely filled in. In the barn for an hour. Back to the house - no tracks in the snow again - completely filled in. Snowing and windy - my tracks in the snow would only last about 10-15 minutes before they completely vanished.

And we *still* haven't used a snow day this year. 🙂

Spotaneous snowboarding in effect. Heading up to Okemo tonight. They just got 31 inches . hollllllllllllllllllllla

Be careful. The roads are wicked bad around here at the higher elevations. It just snowed an inch in like 10 minutes, though it has stopped now. In many areas it has been above 32, so tonite you're gonna see lots of black ice.

Thanks for the heads up. We are taking an 4wd f150 so that should help somewhat. Staying over in Springfield...never been there before.
