I went to RCS at 1230 6th Ave (I think corner is 48th st) and they are closing down.

Some sharp markdowns, although a most of their prices are too high to begin with.

Note they will haggle.

I picked up their last copy of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault for $24 (new US version with manual). I asked the guy marking down items for a price (it was stickered at 49.99), offering $20 - he said $32, but I pointed out that Circuit City had previously offered it on sale for $30, so he dropped down to $24.

I saw other people successfully haggling over PCs. They have a lot of demo items, notebooks, digital cameras.

Palm M500 $248 seems like a good deal. No Palm M515s though.

No further info was posted as to when they close, but there was a line of people to get in.

boy am I happy to see this store die. Everytime I walked in there I couldn't help but laugh at all the ridiculous prices in there.

When I used to work for APPLE in college they were one of the accounts I had to check up on. Very sleazy people .... Always trying to bait and switch everyone who came in...

Does this place have a web site I can check out???

excellent! now hopefully something useful will occupy that store space, i can't believe how long they bogged down that spot. they must have been able to make money off of peeps that were loaded with $ and didn't have the time to shop.

I was there Monday night and found the Diablo II Battle Chest. I asked a cashier for the price and she got a price of $18 from a salesperson. As I was waiting in line to pay, another cashier asked me to go to the front to pay since there was no line there. I told her the price quoted to me was $18 and she asked a different salesperson who told her $28! I told him that the cashier and a salesperson in the back told me $18, so he gave it to me for $18 because he knew I wouldn't wait around anymore!:D

I was there Wednesday. I agree this place was way overpriced, but some hot deals can be had now they are closing the location.

They had the color Palm 505 for $288, not bad for a color model. Hot deal on the old 8MB 33MHz Handspring Platinum with wireless Minstrel modem springboard attachment for $98. Got one yesterday.

I get the feeling that these stores close down all the time so they can sell the $hit they have...Then, they reopen and have big opening sales. I hate NY.

You walk through Times Square and see "going out of business" sales hanging on stores for six months...
