NYC Restaurant Suggestion?

Looking for a good seafood resturant in the Times Square area. So far I like Blue Fin and Ruby Foo's. I am not neccessarly looking for a sushi place, just somewhere that has good food and is on the nicer side. Anyone been to either of those resturants? Other things that I am looking for include a crab cake entree or creme brulee desert...taking my girlfriend for her birthday.

it's not in theater district but i'll recommend candela by union square, for the atmosphere (which can be taken as romantic or gothic), close to the trains/ easy to hail cabs area anyway

i've heard blue fin was good, but its part of the BR Guest restaurants (as is ruby foos i think) and all the other BR Guest restaurants pretty much suck.

anyways, check out oceana if its in your budget at all. its a great seafood place. its on the east side however, but nothing a 5 dollar cab ride wouldn't take care of.

They have a site?

Oceana is awesome. But be prepared to spend $100+ per person

Also on the east side is Brasserie, which has seafood and creme brulee. Also a bit pricey, but if its her birthday, you can register on Dineout NY and get a 50 off 100 coupon

I second brasserie, i had lunch there and it was awesome. dunno about dinner however.

Oh but a great seafood restaurant nowhere near times square is "the mermaid inn" down in the east village...its great food for a great price. honestly i can't think of too many restaurants in the midtown area.

I think Blue Water and Atlantic Grills aren't that bad...definitely better than Ruby Foos!
