NYC people: when does it usually start snowing?

I'm planning a trip there for late november (20-23rd)....does it usually start snowing that early?

There are exceptions, but it usally doesn't start snowing there till sometime in December, sometimes January.

ahh ok, that's what i thought too...by any chance do you know when they start the ice skating and put up the xmas tree/lights?

Well the date changes every year for the Rockefeller Center tree lighting. Sometimes its the first week of December (usually anyways) but last year it was the last week of November which I thought was too early.

yes, it snows in november. it also snows in december, january, february, march, and even sometimes, april...

snow is fun though. and if you're in manhattan proper, you probably won't get too much snow -- not even 1-2 inches unless it's a blizzard.

This year the Rockefeller Center tree will be lit on November 29th.

Maybe you could plan your trip around that time as its just a few days after the day you have planned.

Yea.. the last storm dumped a ton of snow here in the Bronx (North Bronx) and I loved it. Manhattan is not the place to be if you wanna have fun in the snow except for Central Park.
