NYC ATOTers,

I'll be taking a cruise from the dock at W 41st and need advice on where to park. I'll be arriving between 6:30 and 7:30 this evening.

Here's a map

Any pointers?

Go down to the residential areas in the 10-20's and park there. Take a cab back to the dock.

EDIT: There is actually some residential parking there also, just look around a bit.

there is a paid lot above the port authority which is right at the exit of the lincoln tunnel which i would assume is how you're getting into the city. you could then walk directly west 3 blocks to your destination.

i've never personally used this lot before but it seems convenient to both where you enter the city and where you need to get to.

I personally would not want to park in the city unless it was for something quick. You will most certainly get some dents and scratches while it is standing there on the street unless you don't mind paying for parking, which you will end up paying $30+ for.

It's better to use public transportation, IMO.

Yep. I avoid parking anywhere in Manhattan at all costs.

There is a pretty nice parking garage that I use at 43rd and 6th ave in the Hippodrome building. Farily cheap weekend rates too. About a 15-20 min walk, no need to park further downtown.

If you stay over further on the west side they are going to be mostly small lots with shitty attendants. The prices are obviously higher a little closer around 7-9 ave because of the theater district.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Edit: didnt see the post time either...

This is your best bet. It's a Self Park lot on 42nd st between 9th and 10th ave. If you bear left as you exit the tunnel into Manhattan (passing the bus ramps up into Port Authority), that street (Dyer Ave) will lead you straight to the entrance of the lot. It's pretty convenient in it's location and it's also one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) lots in Manhattan.

Edit: Damn it! I'm slow too!
