Another "might need to be in the garage" post. Dodge ought to pounce on this for an ad.

A New York City man who plunged 40 stories from the rooftop of an apartment building has survived after crashing onto a parked car. Witnesses and police say 22-year-old Thomas Magill jumped from the high-rise at West 63rd Street on Tuesday. He landed in the backseat area of a Dodge Charger after crashing through the windshield.
He suffered broken legs. Police say he's in critical condition.
The car's owner, Guy McCormack, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, told the Daily News he's convinced that rosary beads he kept inside the Dodge saved Magill's life.
Police are investigating why Magill jumped from the building.
Magill isn't the only New Yorker to survive a high-rise fall. Window washer Alcides Moreno fell 47 stories from the roof of a skyscraper in December 2007, and doctors expected him to walk again.

If I were the jumper I'd be SOOOOO pissed. Like a cruel joke from God "You're not getting out this that easily."

By the way...who jumps off a building as a way to commit suicide. Talk about a shitty way to go.

A young man plunged 39 stories Tuesday from a West Side high-rise, crashed through the windshield of a sports car - and lived to tell about it.
"My leg! My leg!" Thomas Magill, 22, screamed after an apparent suicide attempt ended with his landing in the red 2008 Dodge Charger, witnesses said.
Magill was in critical condition Tuesday night, undergoing surgery for two broken legs - but those who saw him fall were stunned he made it to the hospital.
"He came down feetfirst at like 100 mph," said witness Andrew Petrocelli, 47, a maintenance worker across the street from where Magill jumped.

The Dodge Charger that broke Thomas Magill's fall
and likely saved his life.

Police believe Magill jumped from the 39th floor of this
West Side apartment building.

If you were falling from a more reasonable but still possibly deadly height would you try to cushion your fall with only one leg so that you def have at least 1 good leg left?

yes thats it. the rosary beads saved him.....not the cushioned seats.
No kidding.
God will save your life, but only after allowing you to be severely injured.

A person would be considered to be sadistic if he hit the brakes to avoid running over a dog, but intentionally slowed only enough to give the dog a glancing blow, and crush two of its legs - then take it to a vet.

God does the same thing and gets praised.

People are fun. :D

Wow, no worries, he'll find a different way to off himself now that jumping off 40 stories didn't work out so well for him.

I was wondering how he crashed through the windshield and ended up in the back seat, until I realized the writer doesn't know what a windshield is.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I was trying to figure out how he missed the front seats, then I saw the pic an realized it was the back window (not sure what the term is)

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies
That you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand
I would understand
The angry boy, a bit too insane
Icing over a secret pain
You know you don't belong
You're the first to fight
You're way too loud
You're the flash of light
On a burial shroud
I know something's wrong
Well everyone I know has got a reason
To say
Put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies
That you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand
I would understand
Well, he's on the table
And he's gone to code
And I do not think anyone knows
What they are doing here
And your friends have left
You've been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this
And I
I want you to know
Everyone's got to face down the demons
Maybe today
We can put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies
That you've been living in
And if you do not want to see me again
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
Can you put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend
I would understand...
