Any idea?
I've found an appartment in newport (waterfront, view etc.) but the rent bumps up 20% after sept 30. I'd like to partition off part of the living room to make a 3rd bedroom.

How much am I looking for spend?

$250 - $300 for materials: Studding, drywall, prehung door, trim, hardware, compound, paint, fasteners...

BTW, what is a "pressure wall"? You mean, load bearing? There has to be a foundation of some kind under a "load bearing" wall. Does this need to be added to the estimate?

That's the technical term for the termporary divider wall (well pressurized wall to be exact) . It uses the pressure from cieling and floor to stay up (it's not anchored anywhere). Generally they don't come in drywall or anythign like that. It's more of a partition than a regular wall.
