NYC calls for ban of WTC memorabilia on eBay

What do you people think about this? Personally, I think some items are probably questionable, but who am I to say? If they are infringing on copyrights (ex. T-shirt designs), or selling fraudulent items, then they should be kept off there no matter if it's WTC related or not. But for NYC to call for a complete ban on anything related to 9/11 is a bit extreme.

its a free country. i dont think that NY can do anything about the selling of WTC stuff.. its not illegal or anything. Sure, it might not be in the best taste to be selling it- but i think a ban on selling it to extreme.

uh i thought ebay was banning that stuff? did they stop?

btw, it's interesting to note the drastic change of response to this thing, compared to back in september.

I think its a good idea to ban that stuff. Ppl should not be making money off of that tragedy, esp on eBay. All the krap they sell on the sidewalks down there is bad enough, IMHO.

They stopped the ban on Jan 1.
